You know it was fishy when 2 things happened, first, the captain stayed on the ice to talk to official in between periods and 2nd Johnson approached officials after the game. 87 would have been the first year that I started to follow sioux hockey a bit, I would have been about 14. Growing up in mandan we didn't get to see many games. It was in 94 that I went to college in Minneapolis and met a huge hockey nut from grand forks that really got me going on Sioux hockey again. From that time forward, I do remember spehar being a diver. I saw some diving exhibitions in the old st paul civic at the final 5.

I have an idea. If a player draws a major penalty for laying on the ice after a hit, for his safety, he has to sit out the rest of that period. So they can properly evaluate his so called injury. This may be a bad idea, but it would put an end to the embelshment

There is no reason that the Class B should be anywhere but in Bismarck. It is centrally located and the venue is the best in the state for this event. Just as the Ralph is the best for hockey.

Now that this is brought up, how many checking from behind penalties or boarding penalties have we taken this year. Blood would make the check and sometimes he paid for it. But the big hits would also serve a purpose in letting them know that they can't have free reign behind the net. The D this year hasn't had a bunch of these penalties, but they also haven't been clearing out the players in front and behind the net. Johnson stayed down and out for most of the game after this hit. He got lit up, but it was legal. As a matter of fact, I saw him go talk to the refs after the game. I guarantee he was asking why that wasn't a penalty, but it was a clean hit.

I too was at the game and I too liked that we had someone who was going to tell St. Cloud that this wasn't the ice capades. I would have to say that the biggest reason we gave up both goals was not moving and clearing out in front of the net. This has happened to often in the last few series. I would have to say this is a mental issue and we can clean those up. IMO this team got an infusion of new players after Christmas break and it is taking a while to figure out who needs to be where. Is Gleason a forward or a defense man? Does Rocco go with line 1 2 3 or 4. Is Mitch Mac in the lineup or not. We have 10 games to get this thing going and I sense it is starting to go in a good direction.

After being at the game last night, I have a question about the defense. Did Berry change the D strategy, from a man to a zone or vice versa? What I noticed is a lot of not playing the puck and not covering the backside of the play. The goaI in the first period was a case of not covering an open man on the side of the net. I am not a great hockey mind, but are they trying to play a zone and someone in not covering their zone? What is the big change and why are they not getting it.

I can confirm it, I have seen it myself right here in Mandan. Actually had the Braves Demons game in HD too. I have seen quite a few college and high school games in HD.

Thanks for starting this new thread, I am going to hold steadfast that if we raise the puck on wilcox we will do better tonight. Easy to stop pucks shot into padding and the body. Make him move. This is what you get for making an assessment in early season. Saunders is very inconsistent and Gothberg is the same. I have a feeling the big stage is affecting him. Yes he didn't lose 8 in a row, but that was then, what is he going to give us now that we are in the grind? I am thinking we are going to be like a yo yo, up and down.
