  1. I would hope that happens as well. However, there is no evidence from the NCAA's past that this should be a reasonable expectation. As of Friday, the job of recruiting for our football staff became much, much more difficult.
  2. We had shown interested in Kyle Swartz a LB recruit rom Kansas. He committed to UNO this Spring.
  3. Mr. Wrigley has no significant civil litigation experience. If there is another lawsuit, ND would use outside counsel once again.
  4. True enough, though I prefer "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best."
  5. Lets assume the following: 1) The bill (soon to be law) survives all the potential challenges. 2) As a result, UND is instructed by whomever to keep the name. 3) NCAA remains steadfast, places UND back on the Sanctions list. 4) Using the sanctions as they exist now (assuming NCAA doesn' expand punishments.) 5) UND will be barred from hosting football playoff games (amongst some non-revenue sport opportunities I suppose). Is that too steep a price or not?
  6. Its not very subjective in a case like this, historical levels would determine "adequate." If a court saw a outlier drop in funding, the legislature would be ordered to restore to historical levels.
  7. The Summit and the Big Sky are not the Big Ten or the Big 12 or 10 or whatever they will be called now. Winning the conf tournament in those leagues matters for nothing 90 percent of the time as those teams involved are likely at large bids. Lets dispense with notion that our respective leagues are anything other than one team autobid leagues. The Conf tournament is EVERYTHING for teams in the Summit and Big Sky. I wasn't bashing a neutral site tourney. My point was there is a logical and legitimate argument to reward the league Regular Season champ in leagues like the Summit or the BigSky.
  8. This wont hurt Mac's re-election chances. I wonder why Ray Holmberg is getting a free pass on this board?
  9. I'd vote for that. But, there are many people that would not call that a win/win. BTW, who are "they" and what would be "the end?"
  10. UND's response is appropriate for now.
  11. Before the Senate vote, Dalrymple said that he would have Drew Wrigley research the ramifications of the legislation if passed. I wonder if we will here about Mr. Wrigley's "findings"
  12. I wonder if we will see statements from the involved parties before Monday.
  13. Bush League? Its just a different philosophy. Does a conference want its regular season championship worth something beyond seeding or not? Winning the regular season championship is a huge accomplishment in the Big Sky considering the conference tourney setup. I like it. Tell me, what did Oakland really earn by winning the Summit League regular season handily? As far as atmosphere goes its a gamble either way. A neutral site is just that, neutral. There will be some support depending on the geography and demographics of the particular conference always. The champion host format should have great support and a great environment, IF the home team doesn't get knocked out early. If the home team gets upset, Im not sure the championship game would look so hot on ESPN2. I will say that it appears to me that a neutral site for the BigSky tourney is not a viable option. The geography is just too big.
  14. Agree with your sentiment. I believe that the Summit title game was on ESPN2 as well.
  15. WYO may be able to answer this, but isn't Craig Bohl the de-facto D Coordinator for the Bison?
  16. Has here been a confirmation on new turf at Alerus Center?
  17. Yeah, but Dante Perez was impressive on tape as well. It wil be interesting to see how spring ball goes for Mr. Bradley.
  18. He said just that at Sioux Boosters. His exact words were to "for my own sanity, I'm going to coach a position full time." He went on to say that the remaining coaching position will be filled. It sounds like a "quality control" type job description.
  19. Per Mussman at today's Sioux Boosters in Fargo, Danny Freund will coach RBs and Mussman will coach O-line himself. He said he will hire a generic offensive/administrative asst coach.
  20. “I think we’re generous, probably beyond what we should be, until they indicate a willingness to change,” Skarphol said. This is what bothers me the most. What does the above quote mean? If the committee did a thorough analysis and based on good information made the recommendations than say so. Its clear based on a quote like this that this is personal for him. And why is a legislator from Tioga with no degree of any kind, chairman of House Education Approps?
