I think we shot outselves in the foot against both of those top 5 teams. Which is annoying.

We lost to them all 5 times in 2016-17, but most of our series since then have been splits.

Wolanin did that against Miami.

Minnesota has 10 defensemen on their roster, which seems crazy to me.

We are short forwards too. It sounds like Blaisdell will be back before the end of the pod, so unless he’s able to play tonight, there are no healthy scratches.

If Western gets Brandon Bussi back, they’re likely a more competitive team in that division and could take some points. Miami has been more competitive so far than I thought they’d be. I think SCSU and UMD games will probably be as competitive as the UND and DU games are so I think that might be a wash.

Yeah. Everything I’ve seen indicate that Nate Benoit will play for Tri City in the USHL next year. He’d be age eligible to come in, but USHL will be better for his development.

I realize there’s a transfer portal and the whole additional year of eligibility situation throwing everything up in the air, but does anyone else think we still need some defensemen for next year? I did the math and I feel like we need between 1-3 more defensemen for next year. Especially considering potential early departure flight risks.

Yeah, same here. Caulfield has been pretty invisible to me so far. Blaisdell plays on the PK so I think he’s been more valuable to the lineup there. I also don’t think either line they have played on has shown much offensive chemistry as of yet.

He got hurt last game so not exactly surprising though.

Honestly, Moore and Rieger on the same pairing is something I don’t care to see at this point in the season. So hopefully we can figure out a good rotation.

We had 9 D with Miller, so I’m thinking they felt we could make do with 8. We also only had one recruit we could’ve pulled from juniors, in addition to the timing of it being mid semester.

I have been undecided all off-season on lines 2 and 3. I have the same players but felt like there were multiple combinations of these six players that would work. Can’t wait to see what we go with.
