Grayden Slipec just scored his first goal of the season. Would be great if it could springboard into some increased production.

Feel bad for #4. Hopefully Cooper Moore is aware of what goes down with the Lawson Lunatics.
Cooper is a junior- he knows.

It would certainly be a ballsy move by Berry.
Exactly why I didn’t expect it

So much for Kaleb Johnson getting a start in goal...he didn't make the trip. Neither did Kunz & Brent Johnson.
They were never going to give Kaleb Johnson his first career start in this kind of situation. If anything he would get a start in the U18 exhibition game and if it goes well, give him a start against Lindenwood.

Oh, still shows on elite
Yeah Elite has been a little slow on updating that this season.
For example- Our newest commit Michael Emerson was still showing as committed to UMass and he decommitted at least a month ago.
I just look at the USHL team line charts. Plus on Castro I saw a tweet about him decommitting.

A link would be good ... and now that you mention it ... lookee what I found for mine-self.
Good news! I was wondering if he’d be a realistic option but was worried about the whole being from out East thing

I haven't seen a release like this from UND in a while.
UND doesn’t announce signees anymore. They just announce incoming classes long after everyone already knows who is coming in.

Wins over Quinnipiac and OT win at Minnesota are saving us from the abyss right now. Those are the only games keeping us within earshot of a Top 15 PW situation. Unlike a few years back when UND couldn't beat Canisius and we all knew that was the death knell.
Except we don’t have a win over Q-pac. We’ve got a TIE.

Panzer and Slipec seem far from ready, based on their current lack of production (I have not seen them play). So at forward next year, they could be in a similar situation next summer to their dilemma on D last summer, unless they can find some uncommitted late bloomers. They could bring in guys who aren't ready, tap the portal, or allow fifth years to return. The lesser of evils I guess.
Slipec in particular plays 4th line minutes on a deep team so he should definitely play another year in the USHL so he can potentially earn increased minutes next season once some of the Steel’s top guys move in to college.

We are now in 7th place in the NCHC. Right about where we belong from what I've seen this season.
We’ve been in 7th for weeks lol

He won’t be fired….buyout would be too expensive and no alum would pay the money to get rid of him.
Yeah, I definitely don’t think he’ll be fired.
Sorry to those that were hoping.

It's only a matter of time before our save % is worst in the nation. Maybe it already is.
Stonehill has a .767 so we might be safe from last for a little while…

Anyone listen to Bub's presser yesterday? (I was away.)
Injury status updates?
Will everyone be available to travel? Will some have to stay home for ... reasons? @MafiaMan, @Blackheart, @Oxbow6, thoughts?
Sterns County where the motto is ... We Do Cows.
And for sake of diversity, seems they've expanded to "we do pets" now too.UND has the pressers on Wednesdays. So today.

So what has changed from last year when this same D played very well and the only one missing is Sanderson and he missed plenty of games , so why are they playing so poorly as a unit ?
Wondering if the fact that we haven’t had 8 healthy d-men all season is playing a role. From my memory only 2 defensemen haven’t been sick or injured and missed a game or more at some point this season. I don’t really know if it’s a factor but just an observation.
Im also starting to wonder if Driscoll bailed them out more than we may have thought last year and this year we haven’t had our goaltending be able to save us (DeRidder at Minnesota the exception)
-
Our goaltending and defensive zone play still makes me uneasy so I don’t feel that great going into this weekend. Hoping we can at least win one of the games.

Remember when Tambo left. I believe he needed to return to a less challenging league to adjust his playing time.
I basically just remember when Tambo left we started winning more games that season.

I know it may be bashed as a Nancy-negative assessment, but damn - the "lows" are pathetic. The fact that UND barely scratched out a win at home against a middle of the pack team is just indicative of where they are now - a middle of the pack team.
Just as a reference our next opponent, SCSU, who is currently 4th in the PWR, split with Bemidji in their home and home earlier.

COMMITTED UND Recruits
in Men's Hockey

I haven’t really been concerned about a couple years down the road, more concerned about the immediate future with incoming forwards for next year. But the Emerson commitment yesterday really helps for next year.
