Where have you been? LOL You should have seen everyone in this board when he re-opened his commitment and put us on his short list! He didn't decommit to specifically come here. That's just the decision he made when all was said and done. Long story short: he decommitted from Wisco because he felt he committed when he was too young to fully understand what he wanted from a development aspect. Re-evaluated, and here we are.

He did not finish high school. I believe an attempt was made to accelerate, but it didn't get done. He was interviewed at the Draft last summer and mentioned how he was not going to college because he was still in high school. Wilkie could have come in this year, but decided to play the extra year in the USHL. I think he knew waiting a year would give him a better opportunity to contribute to the team right away as a freshman.

Gersich wasn't pushed back. He was a high school senior this year.

I'm curious why you think a guy who is second on his team in goals has a confidence problem?

He's older than the other three mentioned, so he's not at the same level as far as "pro prospects" go. I don't know a lot about his recruitment, as he is from Finland. But if you have the production he has in the USHL, you have options. But he's not a guy you can just brush off altogether either. Unlike the other 3, this guy is probably 4 year guy. And we need those types of players too.

I agree, but I'd also say any unexpected departures among forwards brings him to campus in the fall.

Just to add to this, LaLeggia and Stecher were teammates in juniors, so he'd know as well as anyone what Stecher brings to a team.

I'd agree with that considering there doesn't appear to currently be a center on that line...

It wasn't about whether he's a top 6 guy. It was about combinations. You don't break up OD-Pogo-Gaarder and Chyz-Poolman-St Clair played well together at regionals.

I don't think Evers will be on campus next year. Replace him with Hayden Shaw or Christian Wolanin.

I don't think the coaching staff likes to give big time playing time to freshmen to start the season. For example, I was a senior at UND in 08-09 and it took forever for them to put Gregoire and Hextall on the top line with Duncan.
