Last years squad had much more talent, but this team appears to be a textbook example of a team...overcoming adversity and less talent with sheer determination and grit.

Even though we beat them a week ago and are the #1 seed I consider us slight underdogs, which is ok because it adds a little sense of urgency. I hope the guys feel the same way and remember how they felt when the Gophers put them down 3-0, that should be the motivation they need for a fast start.

Their PP looked good tonight, we can't get drawn into any retaliation-type penalties, need cool heads tomorrow.

Looks like Duluth is going to finish off Maine, sets up 2 great games tomorrow.

They did a horrible job all weekend, I'm glad someone else was blessed with their presence for a change.

Going to be a different game tomorrow, the sting of blowing that 3-0 lead has got to be stuck in the craw of the Gophers, Sioux can't let them come out and hang a couple early goals on them or it could get ugly. Too bad BU got rattled and gave up that 5:00 PP to put them down 2, seemed like they might have been able to tie it up again with all the shots they were getting on Patterson. But...Sioux vs. Gophers to go to the FF...does it get any better than that?

Just watched the replay on ESPN3 because I had to work during the game, nice to be able to watch replays of all these games...thank God our cable company decided to pick up ESPN3 last year. Was the close hardhitting game I expected, one bad giveaway was the difference. Glad to get by these guys, they were playing really well coming in.

What time is the first game today?

Another productive work day coming eh? My biggest problem is stealing someones wi-fi at work tomorrow, otherwise I might develop the flu about 11:00.

Lot different than last year when we cried about TV timeouts against Michigan...this year they are our friend. Our guys have to be in top condition from playing shorthanded the last month, I feel strangely comfortable playing 17 guys at this point...although 1 untimely injury could change that in a hurry.

I agree with all that I'm just interested to see how much effort is made NOT to show the name/logo or refer to the old Sioux teams as what they were, more than anything to see how much influence the NCAA has on ESPN to repress the Sioux nickname from anyones memory.

I have no doubt that the cameras will catch people in the crowd with Sioux jerseys on many times, there's really no avoiding that part of it as well as the team is followed. And if I was a betting man (actually I guess I am a betting man) I would bet that at least once or twice (or 20 times) the announcer will let the "Fighting Sioux" slip out, especially if he's a decent college hockey guy...you can't forget history overnight. It will be interesting how they choose to show and talk about the 7 titles the Sioux have won, it's always well-documented during any Sioux tourney appearance...would take quite a bit of editing to show some of those old teams without getting the front of any jerseys in the shot.

There's nothing more dangerous than a team coming into the playoffs hot, the last 2 Super Bowl winners are proof of that. This game has both teams peaking at the end, I expect a nail-biter.

When the team leaves the hotel it will be just like looking over your kid before his first day of 1st grade...make sure he put on the clothes you laid out for him, his 'good' shoes, 'good' coat, no toys that can be considered offensive, etc...

That's exactly what it is. They forced our local cable company to pick up ESPN3 last year to watch the FCS playoffs, they've figured out that fans in danger of missing their teams playoff games have a lot more influence than any sales pitch they can make.
