Jensen with a big run brought back somewhat by holding, 1st down at the 25. Roughing the passer on GSU, they are pissing this away on stupid penalties. First down at the 12, 4:10 left.
-
Stopped them at the 25. FU gets the ball back at their 31 with 5:49 left. Now GSU picks up a stupid late hit waaay after the play is over. Bison should have the ball at about midfield. Now up to Jensen to win this game down 20-16.
-
FU has them pinned at the 2, they screwed it up last time they had field position...let's see how this goes. 8:00 left.
-
...speaking neutrally of course...
-
GSU sacks Jensen and gets the ball back, running well again at the end of the 3rd. Bison look a little shaky after the TD, Bohl needs to settle them down between quarters.
-
And GSU makes them pay with a TD, 20-16 5:00 left third, that roughing the kicker penalty changed the whole complexion of this game.
-
NDSU roughs punter in his own endzone, and GSU now at the NDSU 20. Bad mistake.
-
FU breaks off a 50+ yard TD run and goes up 16-13.
-
13-9 GSU at halftime, defenses playing a little better on both sides.
-
Based on what? Their one goal? in over two periods?
-
GSU right back with a 49 yard TD pass across the middle, 13-6 GSU. GSU with about 150 yards of offense so far, NDSU is not used to this.
-
NDSU returns the favor with a long drive of their own, XP blocked again. tied at 6 almost end of first.
-
GSU drives it down NDSU's throat on a 8 minute drive to open the game to take a 6-0 lead. XP blocked, announcers say GSU kicking game has been terrible. Could be a factor later.
-
I hope someone posts the video for that smooth move.

Appreciate updates tonight, busy with other stuff and trying to keep track of the hockey game and watching a little of the FU game...

That's how it used to be here too, incidences like the one today really have to make schools look at their security policies, they can't totally stop this from happening but they can do everything possible to limit the damage...e.g. one entry point by the office, closed locked doors in classrooms, intruder drills, etc... Anybody whose children attend a school where they are not comfortable with security policies or lack of them should contact their school board members and arrange to get on the next meeting agenda, we can't assume anywhere is completely safe anymore.
-
Our schools have numerous lockdown drills and only the front doors are open from the outside, still one person with an automatic weapon could do unthinkable damage in a short time. Is this what the world is coming to where you have to post security at the entry point and make every person (students included) walk through a metal detector? Sometimes I really wonder what my kids and grandchildren are going to have to deal with in 30 years the way the world is going.

Sickening. Seems like it is happening more often the last few years too. I hope the families can heal from this.

Totally off topic but have you ever noticed how many people bolt from a theater after a movie and 20 seconds later the outtakes start and half the time they're better than the movie was? Gotta be the first one out though I guess. Back on topic.

Accident? Kid launched himself at a non-puck handler in the middle of the rink, his mother couldn't defend him on that one.

There will still be a WCHA next year. And Mich Tech will have a legit chance to make the NCAA Tourney for a change. The world is not ending.
-
If they would just reward the #1 seeds with the tournament in their barn they wouldn't have to worry about fairness of travel, take a week off after the league tournaments IF they need to for setting up the logistics and ticket sales, then play the regionals at the top seeds house and the Frozen Four at the predetermined site. I would bet attendance would be substantially better too. I would really not like to see a best-of-three first round the way the WCHA is set up, we could be looking at 9 games in 17 days, that would be a wreck, and I think other conferences play a similar format. Depending on how the NCHC tourney will be set up it could be better for us, but I'm sure other, bigger conferences would balk, and with good reason.

NFL wants to open playoffs up to .500 teams
jodcon replied to jimdahl's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Simply another case of the NFL looking for more revenue, with the last 2 Super Bowl winners coming from the final Wild Card spot the timing is right to push the "anything can happen" agenda and get 4 more games of revenue without lengthening the season. Would be a crazy first round, 4 games Saturday and 4 games Sunday, good weekend for a football nut. -
I thought there was a couple close together and then the one last night so there might be 3 still unknown, unless one was Robertson.
-
3 of these 6 would be a nice start...need to see some defensive studs on the board.
