  1. Looked on eGriz today to see if they were saying anything about the 2013 game (like if they were still coming) but as usual the football board had broken down into a Cat-Griz vulgarity, insult, and intelligence questioning filled argument. So needless to say there was no real information to be had, at least on this day. It gets chippy on here with Gopher hockey fans and Bison fans once in a while but these guys are brutal, they flat hate each other and are allowed to let it be known. Makes you appreciate the way this site is run.
  2. I still have to laugh about Trupp carrying the puck on his stick 2/3 the length of the ice and shooting it, if that would have gone in we'd be seeing it on replays until the day we died. Almost as good was when they interviewed Frattin during the NCAA Hockey Selection Show and asked him about it, he said something like "I was filling the lane in case he passed it to me...I didn't really know what to do", it was pretty funny.
  3. I'm sure they would still like to have one from the midwest to travel partner with UND, who that could be I'm not sure. USD would have been the perfect fit, now that they have slipped out the BSC might not rush to replace them and work on recruiting someone else long-term.
  4. DISCLAIMER: The following comment should in no way be considered an endorsement or recommendation and is simply a neutral observation. It is not intended to cause hate and discontent, and should be taken as such. They would actually be a better fit than most, not only from the standpoint of their facilities and athletics, but their location would be desireable for the league as far as travel partners go. Having the 2 big North Dakota schools and the 2 big Montana schools in the same league would be exciting. But they're happy where they're at and we're happy where we're at, so we'll do our thing and they'll do theirs and it'll all work out.
  5. I would guess with them just releasing the next 4 years schedules they probably aren't in a big hurry, but nothing would surprise me...one more team would be so good for scheduling.
  6. You're right about the lack of true scheduling, USD put a kink in that plan. I would just add that 5 is a truly awful number for a football league too.
  7. "Broad Street Bawlers"
  8. Boston looked pretty good at Philly today, maybe losing those first 2 games against Montreal was a blessing in disguise...put the edge back on.
  9. I wonder if they do it by headcount and not by tickets sold, there are bound to be a few no-shows?
  10. The biggest crowd was in 2006 against SDSU -19,053 and was 4 years after the UND-NDSU series was last played at the Dome, and the only time SDSU shows up on the top 15 attendance list for NDSU. The last 3 Sioux-Bison games at the Dome? 2002-19,046 2nd biggest crowd ever 2000-19,020 3th biggest crowd ever 1998-19,006 5th biggest crowd ever This series if resumed would again destroy the attendance records at both venues, the only limits would be how many standing room only tickets they would sell.
  11. What you have to ask yourself whether you're a Sioux or a Bison fan is "Is there any other game you could schedule that will draw as much attention, a bigger crowd, or sell more merchandise than a Sioux-Bison game?" I don't think there is.
  12. I think it's funny that Montana won the conference 14 of the last 15 years before this year and now Ash thinks he's the spokesman for the conference with 1 shared title under his belt, that guy is really starting to bug me.
  13. I look at a schedule like this and it makes me think "recruiting tool", will be a lot easier to sell a kid (and his parents) on putting on the green jersey with this schedule in your back pocket.
  14. I should have stated this better. The rumbling here was that the Board of Regents did not want to let Montana go to another conference without Montana State. Nobody here with the exception of a few dilusional fans ever thought the Grizzlies were going to go to the WAC...they couldn't afford it, they've got it made as a leader in the Big Sky, and they weren't going to leave the Bobcats (who really couldn't afford it) behind anyway. The Board of Regents never really had to worry about it, so it became a moot point. If push would have came to shove, they would have had to take a stand and pony up big dollars to get them both up to WAC standards, or would have "encouraged" Montana to stay in the Big Sky.
  15. They would have had to take both or none, the state said they wouldn't allow one to go without the other.
  16. Told ya the Bobcats were a bunch of jackasses, not good guys like the Grizzlies. (Now watch them weasel out of the non-conference game and make me look bad)
  17. That wouldn't be a bad deal either, every other year is better than zilch.
  18. I watched a couple hours of that last weekend, I can't believe how many of the guys they caught said "I knew it was going to be this" or admitted they had seen this program before, yet they came anyway. Unreal. I hope you're wrong about Vancouver being Nashvilles kryptonite though, cheering for underdogs is all I have left.
  19. So Nashville then?
  20. My fault, I keep forgetting that...conference yes...NCAA no. Hard to keep the sanctions straight for me.
  21. Well that is good news, maybe if I'm lucky a couple of them will be hockey/football weekends and I can kill 3 birds with 1 stone (my 2 football teams and hockey team). New schedules look great, if the fans aren't excited about that they should check if they have a pulse. Now that the Big Sky schedules seems settled, what does everyone think the chances of getting NDSU back on a home and home schedule are (I know...nobody cares, we don't need them, yada yada yada)? I know there's a lot of hard feelings both ways but I would like to see that resume, I can't imagine my Griz not playing the Bobcats anymore...that would be really wrong.
  22. Maybe this has been talked about somewhere and I missed it but what is going to happen to the WCHA Final Five when Minnesota and Wisconsin leave? Has there been any speculation? I wonder if the X would be as excited hosting it when Minnesota and Wisconsin aren't around? Of course we could host it...wait a minute...
  23. Bruins win in OT, already a better night than last night. EDIT: TB finishes off Pittsburgh too 1-0.
  24. Yeah me too, I saw that in the paper this morning and thought it was a misprint, I guess this will take them back to their old college days.
