I think virtually everybody would be in favor of reinstating the nickname in the event that SL could actually win their lawsuit, and going without one until that case is settled doesn't bother me or probably anyone else either. As far as "spending all that money", my guess is if the nickname was officially, legally, and without consequences reinstated down the road a few years any request for donations to help with the costs would bring in a flood of money like never seen before. The only question would be whether or not the SBHE would pull the trigger, unless it would be previously in writing.

Montana rallies to beat EWU in the final minute, Weber vs. Montana for the BSC championship.

Weber rallies late to make the championship game, EWU playing well and up 5 at halftime over Montana. Place filled up the second half of the Weber game, Montana is having midterm tests this week which might have kept some kids away early, but the place looks pretty full and loud now.

And yet when the Sioux are knocked out of the tournament this year, and they most likely will be, the same fair-weather fans who only post when UND reaches the NCAA tournament or when they fail to win the NCAA tournament will be on here talking about how they choked, Hak should be fired, Blais would have won, yada yada yada. No mention (or comprehension) how hard it is to mold a team with everchanging parts, get to the tournament, and put them into position to win a championship every single year. My 2 favorite teams in college athletics mirror each other very closely, Sioux hockey and Griz football, and even though both have gone through a dry spell where it's been "close but no cigar", I wouldn't trade either of those dominant programs for any other out there today, and top-notch coaching is what has put them in position to make a run at the championship almost every year.

You would think by now people would know that no Sioux hockey team can be evaluated until after the break, we almost always suck early...then get hot late.

FYI the Big Sky semifinals are on Altitude tonight, I think it's Weber vs. PSU and Montana vs. EWU.

If that's the case why don't you go to a bar in Fargo, get a dozen drunks who say they can skate, put Sioux jerseys on them, line up a game for them, and you can cheer for your "favorite team" a.k.a. "Team Sioux Jersey" without having it associated with UND. Problem solved.

Jim had this nailed over a month ago, if we sweep this series we should be safe even if we lose the Thursday game at the FF. Nice work young man.

Amazing that this team rallied to finish 4th in the conference after losing all the senior talent and then Gregoire, Hextall, Bruno, Cichy, then the terrible start and all the injuries...just amazing really. Maybe this is a team of destiny. I know they're a team nobody will want to see in their bracket if they continue playing well the next couple weeks.

I hope that's the injured guys from before...
