At this point, it looks like they won't be staying in Grand Forks... at least for now. Monique and Jocelyn will be enrolled at SSM this fall.

What is the $130,000 expense to the Fighting Sioux Club?
-
If it makes you feel any better, bigmrg74 misspelled fellatio.

I agree. I'm also a firm believer in a real home field advantage. I don't like what they're doing with basketball one bit. It's hard to have a home court when there's two of them.

This is my guess... not a bonafide fact, so bear with me. There are people in the emerald club & up who are entitled to 8 seats. There are those in the coaches club who are entitled to 4 seats. I would guess that in the past season, there were those who had already joined the FSC at these levels, but due to a "full house" were unable to aquire their allotted number of seats. So... when more seats opened up, they got first shot at them. This is kind of explained in the letter from Mark Rudolph that cfm567b27 posted.

Screw hay. They can pick rocks. I've got about 10 acres that would keep these boys busy for a while. Hell, I'll even provide the steak.
-
Wow... they really went out on a limb with these predictions... Who the heck is Grand Valley? Is that a California team?
-
I agree 100%... I'll never forget the St. Cloud game. Unbelieveable win. What an exciting season.

I have to say '01, for the obvious reason of a national chamionship. This team had lots of talent across the board, and if we needed to we could get 3 points at the drop of a hat. Throw in a talented QB with plenty of time and capable receivers, and you've got a contender every time. Oh yeah... the defense wasn't too shabby either.

Come July 1st 2005, god willing, 8>0

I wouldn't have believed it if I heard it on the street... good info.

"innards" - means guts, insides, etc. Its a word.
-
That would make a nice signature line...

I don't think Digger is a very welcome figure in NDSU circles... But if it is true, look for the Sioux faithful to demand D-I. Nothing would set us off more than a great player transferring to the knucleheads down south.

Dammit, PCM... if you keep this nonsense up, I won't have any reading material this fall about "UND's high powered offense, stingy defensive corps, and questionable goaltending." Knock it off!
-
Since you had the "best defenseman in NCAA hockey" in Kieth Ballard, I would say our goaltenders were better.

And 1 1/2 hours away in Devils Lake, and 1 1/2 hours away in Mahnomen, etc., etc. ScottM, you make some very good points. While I don't deal with such economic situations day to day, I have seen some of these problems develop with one of our employees. Just like driving drunk... out of control gambling can make you drive your car into a bridge abutment. Yes, I'm serious.

I think ol' WPoS has been hitting the sauce early today...

If a casino opens in Grand Forks, the charities that are currently benefitting from charitable gaming are going to lose lots of money. Money that they count on as part of their annual budgets. I have a dozen other concerns about this too, but this is a community forum, not a political one.

Famous last words, WPoS, famous last words.

Maybe I'm the one who mis-interpreted what my friend was saying. But, yes, that's what it sounded like. They joined FSC at the minimum level, and purchased football season tickets. I know there were "preference points" awarded when the new arenas opened, which allowed former ticket holders, donors, letterwinners, etc. preference in choosing their seats. That's why it didn't surprise me when he was talking about this stuff. But like I said, maybe I didn't understand him completely. I'd check with FSC to be sure. My apologies in advance if this isn't the case and I mis-led anyone.
-
Right on, Sic... and so will our friends who are #118 on the hockey waiting list. In fact, they joined the FSC just to advance their position on said list. Those that are giving up their seats because of the new FSC rules are not going to get them back soon... I hope they realize that before they do something rash. I was really pissed that tickets went up again this year, but what am I going to do? Give up my seats? Yeah... right.

I never got that letter... just brought my check in and renewed as usual. No communication was necessary, I guess. In the past, though, I've always had good luck getting in touch with Rob B., but maybe Mark R. isn't as fan friendly as Rob is. Did you try calling him directly?

Many times it has been posted that Major Junior is the "fast-track" to the NHL. Yet with some of the talent we've seen in college hockey recently, is this changing? Does MJ have that much more talent than the upper tier NCAA teams? I'm not very familiar with MJ hockey, and I'm hoping someone can explain. Thanks.

As a comparison, what are the experience ratings for other "power" teams in the NCAA? Any 2.5+ out there?
