Good guess. Herald Sicatoka: I thought you'd provide that link. You're slippin'...

Let's not forget the "oh-so-popular" new academic standards... That might be an issue of tension between coaches and admin.

Just a shot in the dark... but I had problems with mine initially, because of the file size. Maybe double check the image file and make sure it meets the criteria. Your avatar must be no bigger than 64 pixels by 64 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 20 KB. The following file types are allowed: gif .jpeg .jpg .png

I won't run down the whole roster, but... Bochenski, Murray, Porter I'd like to see Porter with these guys this season. He showed some brilliant moves last year, and might get a shot to play up top. Also, if he takes on the "dish-man role," we might see Murray lighting the bulb even more than we did last season, as he was usually playing as a complement to BB and ZP. Of course, Bo could play the dish-man role too... We've got a great defense, but I hate our power play. It seems like nobody can get a quick release for that first shot from the point. Schneider seems like he wants to play with the puck, Greene isn't a shooter by nature, and Jones is many times too timid with the puck. Who can release this thing? Is Radke noted as a shooter? It's just frustrating watching the penalty killers block shot after shot... hopefully the new offense-minded assistant can get this thing rolling.

No, he won't say that to an affirmative action committee, or to the coaches, or to the athletes. But I'll agree with him, and so will 90 out of 100 people in the community. Soccer at UND is a minor sport.

What's in there? Probably those biased statistics that show without "blending", the 119th is a scratch. 15 out of 40 is not very good odds... no matter how many awards a unit has. Like Sicatoka mentioned, I also view this as a North Dakota issue. If our state can keep the Hooligans, in any way, its a win. Just like I'm secretly hoping SU's move to D-I is a success... it's good for the state. (the previous sentence may not be linked, copied, quoted, or even mentioned without my written permission) Somewhat related: I was at the MAFB recently, and am frequently at the GFAFB. If new/ upgraded infrastructure is any indication, the base near GF might be a little safer when it comes to potential closure. Ryan Bakken for Governor.

So these consultants were hired to make a decision, but when the decision and recommendations came in, the Fargo community ignores them and goes their own way. Carr, Spectrum... it's all just details. 42MM, 120MM... again, just details. (above quotes taken from this [url="http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=62344

It's funny how this "Spectrum Group" in Virginia can recommend moving the 119th to GFAFB in order to save it's very existence, and somehow it gets translated to GF screwing Fargo. How about they just shut it down completely? Would that be better? Sorry, tony, but I don't see the logic in your post. Many of them already do.

Interesting... Isn't there quite a few of these soldiers that presently reside in the Grand Forks area? While no group wants to be "blended," the fact remains that if these two groups were put together, they would have a much better chance at surviving future rounds of closure. Given a choice of blending or dismantling, I think those men and women in the 119th would choose the former.

I saw the Air National Guard article in yesterday's Herald. I agree, it would be too bad for Fargo, but at the same time would strengthen GFAFB's existence and stature exponentially. The best fighter wing in the world, along with the Warriors of the North. Outstanding!

Good Luck, Dave.

How dare anyone make any tongue in cheek comments about the late Herb Brooks.

If the decision has already been made to name Hakstol as the new coach, it could be said that RT did not follow university hiring procedure. He very well could have informally told him the job was his, of course this is against the rules. And now, of course, we get the damage control. Anyway... to answer the question: If I broke that information, I wouldn't give my name either. I don't know anyone who wants to be named as "the person who leaked the UND hockey hiring information which led to Roger Thomas getting his ass in a sling." Even more so if this person is a respected community leader and someone with close ties to the university.

That's a "statement," PCM... but you did revive my interest in the coach search. I thought Hak had it locked up, but I guess we'll see.

I would have thought they'd put in floor mouted "practice hoops" to avoid the permanent fixture hanging from the ceiling. I suppose set-up and tear-down for practices is easier this way? (no... I don't mean the ones like the kids have where you fill the base with sand or water)

I think you're right. From my best observation, he wanted the best college hockey facility in the world. Nothing more, and more importantly, nothing less. I really don't think he would enjoy watching a basketball game in the main rink. But who am I to say what RE wanted or didn't want... I agree... kind of tacky, IMO.

Tough one... 1.Sioux 2.UMD 3.UW 4.UM 5.AA/CC/SCSU/DU It's up for grabs...
-
Jeff Panzer or Jason Blake... although my favorite player in my favorite Sioux game has got to be Adam Hauser. Best game ever!

DG anchor? I'm guilty. Ahhh youth.
-
What's left to do on him... new paint job? I agree... finally have a perfect October this year. Only one home series, and it's the vermin... perfect!
-
A decided home field advantage, apparently...

Keep a clean nose, and toss $9K. All in all, not a bad sentence for a kidnapping hoax...
-
The money line. Well done.

Like John Marks said on the radio this morning... compare it to the basketball coach at Duke, or the football coach at Notre Dame. Its not a decision to take lightly. If, after reviewing all of the candidates, Hakstol is the number one guy... that's great. But DamStraight is right... don't make the decision one out of convienence.
