  1. Not to split hairs but you do realize that FCS = football championship subdivision and FBS is the more competitive subdivision. No big deal though....
  2. WRONG... Winning an FCS championship is a great achievement but it does not compare to winning a D1 Hockey Championship. FCS is not playing the highest level of competition like they do in hockey, hence the reason FCS is called a SUB-DIVISION. And no, calling FCS, JV Football is not a rip on UND. When you don't play the highest level of competition, you are considered a step-below. That's just a fact...
  3. Uhhh what about Greene?
  4. Remember when he played at Ferris State and only got three years of eligibility at UND... UND has had great players come through their program but the question is; "WHO WAS THE BEST FOUR YEAR PLAYER AT UND"? Mark Taylor...
  5. Just think what he could've done if he was here for 4 years, as that is the question.
  6. Tony Hrkac was great and would've been even better but he didn't play 4 years at UND....
  7. Lee Goren only played 3 years
  8. wasn't a 4 year player at UND though
  9. Karl Goehring??
  10. It is a nice visitor but who knows if it would make to Grand Forks...
  11. They haven't owned the State of Minnesota, let alone the SW corner of Minnesota in a long time. The UofM is just not the program it once was.
  12. deeks pizza? what i wouldn't give for one of those pizzas down here
  13. When he told NHL reporter Mike Morreale at the Combine that, "he will let the team that selects him determine whether he ends up at UND or the Ontario Hockey League", is when I lost respect for him.
  14. You mean that player that abandoned his teammates in the middle of the season? Don't care what he thinks...
  15. JT Miller, Stefan Matteau, Miles Koules, Ryan Mantha, Brendan Lemieux, Ryan Gropp all are non existent to me. I also have to chuckle at Miles Koules as he bought into that WHL/OHL/QMJHL crap and now he is tolling around in the ECHL.
  16. I understand that but he must also understand that the program needs to move forward. If a player leaves early, thats fine; just give the coaches enough time to find a replacement. Look what happen a few years back with Dell. He turned pro early and didnt have the offers that he thought he had asked to come back, by that time Hak had already found a replacement goalie (Clarke Saunders). It's all speculation anyway and I'm sure he is keeping the coaches in the loop.
  17. That could very well happen but I would hope that Schmaltz would have more respect for the program (coaches and players) than that!
  18. Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland receive a fraction of the B10 revenue but will not receive a full percentage until after 6 years (which is like 2020 or somewhere close to that).
  19. Ya, the B10 already said it doesn't want ASU. My question (along with others) is, where does this leave ASU? The NCHC is still an option but ASU needs to fix their darn arena problem. A 1000 seat arena will not hold all the traveling UND fans!
  20. After everything I heard, I was with you in thinking ASU was going to the B10. Where does this leave them? Like you said, they have the money and I would think they have the power to attract other Pac12 schools in the future.
  21. Well, the B10 has said NO to ASU, so who is the other team that will round out the B10? Where does ASU go?
  22. Of course its not about B10 money, its about UND making the most money off of their product. I honestly think UND will take all broadcasting "in-house" and sell the rights to FCS, but someone brought up the other day with all the budget cuts that UND might not be able to afford to do that.
  23. Honestly, I cant seem to find the article where I read that specific stipulation but I know it's out there. I would be willing to bet that Schlossman has seen/heard it too, since he brought it up; he isn't known to report from the cuff.
  24. The nontraditional start times also have hurt in the Big Ten. It's not just the Thursday and Sunday games, it's the odd 2 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. start times that have happened on Saturdays. (covered that a long time ago but Gopher fans on here say its a non-issue) UND was forced to play in a Big Ten Sunday game this season against Michigan State and there was no buzz from afar and no atmosphere in East Lansing, Mich., for that game. College hockey fans are used to their 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. starts on Friday and Saturday nights. Regularly playing on different nights and at odd times would not go over well with the North Dakota fan base. Affiliate members in the Big Ten also shouldn't expect to see any television revenue generated by the Big Ten Network, so it doesn't promise to be a lucrative move. (Covered this too but fans seem to think other wise) Three years into the new era of college hockey, UND is the national champion, regularly landing top recruits and averaging more than a sellout per game. Things are going well right now for the UND men's hockey team. It will cost any NCHC team $1.5MM to leave the NCHC....That ain't happening anywhere!
  25. Why does it matter what his degree was in? He left early because it was what was best for him and his development. Now he can focus himself on his main career in hockey.
