My favorite pic is the one of the two Gopher clowns and their "worthless" sign. It's posted over on Gopher Puke Live, too. You can add comments to the picture and I put the following: Knowing those two bozos had to pay good money to sit there watching the Sioux win the Final Five? PRICELESS. Gopher Nerds Live I suppose you could also add, "well, that's ok, we'll just kick some Holy Cross a** next weekend!".

An extra $450 to put the years on? Good grief, where did you go to get that thing done, Golden Gopher Tattoo Shop?
-
buckysieve could maybe revive the old SNL skit "Da Bears." He could even replace Chris Farley. Cue superfan George Wendt! Hey, buckysieve, Gophers and Sioux dis weekend in Grand Forks. Who ya gonna take? Uhhh...Gophers sixty-tree to nuttin'. Changin' gears here, for a minute, da Indy Five Hunnerd is dis weekend. Buckysieve, who ya got? Uhh...I gotta go wit Danica Patrick. Hokay den, how about 'dis....Coach Lucia's in da race. Now who ya gonna take? I dunno...what's Donny drivin'? Hmnnnn...da yellow Gopher bus! Aaaahhh...Coach Lucia!

It did because there is little doubt that the Gophers totally dominated both of those opponents.
-
Since I was there, I'm going by memory, but it seemed as though it was a pretty good hockey game. Then again, I don't wear maroon goggles when I'm watching. I should know by now that the Gophers pretty much dominate anybody when they take the ice and that it's only by an act of God that they don't go 35-0 every year.
-
Yep, if it weren't for McKee, Cornell would have no doubt been run over by at least 30 goals.
-
That means that after weathering the first period storm, the SOG for the rest of the game were 11-11. Yea, total domination. In fact, I've never seen such domination. Had anyone else been in goal, it would have no doubt been 20-0 Gophers. Frankly, I don't understand why they even played the 2005 Frozen Four because Denver, CC, and North Dakota should have been shaking in their skates at the Gophers total domination of their regional opponents.
-
Puhlease! I'd expect that the Gophers would outshoot most anyone in their own building, buckysieve. Maine gave Minnesota a spirited game and even Cornell had its chances against your beloved 'U'. The Gophers had about 15 power plays to Maine's 2-3 that game. The officiating was atrocious and it STILL took an OT goal for Goldy to pull that game out. I concur...if either of those games are anywhere other than Mariucci, I seriously would have liked the upset special.
-
I guess they "dominated" Maine and Cornell about as well as you can dominate a 1-0 OT win and a 2-1 OT win, respectively.
-
Sheesh...are we still discussing hockey or a visit to The Platinum Fox?
-
Long live King PCM! There is NO question in my mind that the 2005 season turned around on the Spirko short-handed goal against the Gophers in that game.
-
The 'fair-weather fan specials' were the empty seats. You, however, can be applauded for supporting your team.
-
That third place game win sure propelled them over the Gophers a short time later, didn't it? Obviously a 3rd place finish in a five team tourney doesn't excite many Gopher fans. One need only look at the number of empty 'fair-weather fan special' seats in the stands. Keep preachin' to your choir, buckysieve.

What a great picture of Gordy. Rest in peace.

Wait a second, bucky, I didn't think the Broadmoor was all that important? I guess it's only important if you win your semi-final game at the X. If you lose, you just say that the tournament didn't matter anyways and tank the third-place game, right? Stop straddling the fence and pick a side, would you? You scoff at the Final Five, now you use the lack of a Broadmoor Trophy to rip on Parise? Cmon...you can do better than that!

Editor's note: Editing done is my own.

Good point. I'm reserving judgement. And I edited my post.

I guess I haven't paid enough attention to your posts, Slap Shot.

Thank you...thank you very much...I'll be here all week!

sagard has always been pretty level-headed along with Greyeagle. The rest of the bunch? Well...

Is Phil gonna buy the NHL package from Direct TV?
-
Get out and buy a lottery ticket, my friend!

Did someone run over your dog recently? I don't think I've read a single post of yours that has a positive comment to say about anything since you've joined.

With all due respect, I don't know if being selected as rookie of the year has anything to do with draft selection number.
-
Phil's 2005-2006 statistics: 18 goals, 33 assists. 5 of those 18 goals (28% of his season total) and 11 of those 33 assists (a whopping 33%of his season total!) came in the six games against UAA, the last-place team in the conference. In fact, 12% of Phil's assists on the year came in ONE GAME against the Seawolves, a 9-0 thrashing. I'm not saying Phil didn't deserve the award, but if you're going to point out the simple statistic of "leading the nation in freshman scoring," rebuttals come quite easy. Care to bring up the Hobey "snub" given Ryan Potulny too?
