  1. Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's not rush to judgement on this poor girl. I'll need to see her up close for a better look at the evidence.
  2. Def Leppard rocked the Minnesota State Fair this past summer, PCM. Styx opened for them and I thought they were fabulous.
  3. Oh...and I almost forgot... Back on topic, Grieco leaving isn't good for the Sioux, but I'm sure he's trying to do what's best for his career. I wish him the best.
  4. CC didn't need to score as they were already up 3-1 and there were approximately seven minutes left in the game. That was a bad time for a stupid penalty and I agree with you 100% about Phil controlling his emotions a little better. The odds of your teammates making it a one-goal deficit decrease greatly when it's 4 skaters vs 5.
  5. PCM, I've always preferred or perhaps or maybe even to your selected musical choice.
  6. The 1969 retro...I think you had the green one. I'm still mulling over 12" vs 14" numbers before taking it into have them stitched on.
  7. What part of "...what was then..." didn't make sense? Maybe I should have emphasized the "then" more. Side note: How does your retro jersey look? Purple Eagles and the 2000 Regional
  8. I'm guessing no one has higher expectations of this year's Sioux than the players and coaches on the team. The rest of us are just geeks on a message board, myself included. Hopefully the team doesn't read your comments and feel like they let you down. Secondly, if they come out and play their game and lose, you'll just tip your cap to the other team and move on? So why don't you give some kudos to Michigan Tech's goalie who stood on his head in the first game of the series in Houghton? I love it when people say things like that because it seems like the cap is NEVER tipped to the other team, there's always some excuse: Poor officiating, bad call late in the game, crummy ice conditions, injury, blah blah blah. Are you sure you want to play Air Force or Niagara? It took a third period miracle by Goldy Goopher to win last year's opener against AF and Niagara beat UNH in the first round several years ago in what was then probably the biggest upset in college hockey tournament play. Mercyhurst almost beat Michigan AT YOST a while back as well. Michigan State came out of nowhere to win the title last season. A #1 seed is nice, but not necessary, to win the national title. I also agree 100% with Yttrium about fan support. Still in my top five games of all-time is a 1990-1992 home game with Northern Michigan. When NMU scored with about 12:00 left to make it 5-0, old REA started emptying. The student section rose up as one and started chanting "LET'S GO SIOUX!". By the time it ended, fans were pouring BACK INTO the arena and the Sioux scored in the final seconds to tie the game up and send it to overtime. Both teams survived a breakaway attempt in OT and the final was 5-5. The Wildcats looked like they'd lost the national title game while the Sioux celebrated. The team stayed on the ice after handshakes, turned towards the student section, and gave a stick salute. When the team is down, that's when they need YOU and every fan in the building to rise up and encourage them.
  9. Well I heard that Diggler is the best goalie in practice. Clearly, someone's head needs to roll over Grieco making the decision to leave school. Fire Hakstol now!
  10. www.FIRETHETRIOUXPER.com
  11. I got da Sioux winnin' a hunnerd-an-tirty-two ta seven. Unless Dikka coaches da Sioux, den I got 'em winnin' tree hunnerd ta zero.
  12. Grieco leaves and Frattin's injured? That's it...FIRE DAVE HAKSTOL!
  13. I was just gonna write something about that... I suppose he was talking about the same sucky Bulldog team that almost pulled off the 9 vs 2 upset in the first round of the WCHA playoffs, right? Only an OT win and a 3OT win allowed the Huskies to stumble into the Final Five, which allowed them to stumble into the NCAA's...
  14. A voice of reason cries out from the wilderness!
  15. "I can't bear to watch the Sioux. This team sucks!"
  16. I think that domain name is already taken. FireLucia.com might be up and running soon, too!
  17. We'll get a great idea of where this team is headed by Christmas: @ Wisconsin, UMD, @ Denver, Minnesota
  18. You're correct, I thought they had been eliminated in the regional, but I do recall watching them on TV and getting spanked by the Spartans. My point is Maine wound up with double-digit losses (I think 15) last season but in late October, people were saying they were unstoppable. UND didn't play well on Saturday night. They're wearing a target this season and every team they play will bring their 'A' game against the Sioux.
  19. ABANDON SHIP! Gimme a break. One year ago at this time, people were annointing Maine as the eventual NCAA champion based on their thrashing of the Sioux in Grand Forks. I'm sure you noticed that the Black Bears didn't even make the Frozen Four. The season is a marathon, not a sprint. Losing a game at home three days into November isn't the end of the world.
  20. Win one for Marty and Joel tonite, Sioux!
  21. Ovechkin...doesn't he play with Dale Hunter and Al Iafriate? Oh, wait, nevermind. That was my 1993 flashback. Regardless, it's nice to see the Capitals return to their true colors and ditch the blue, black, and gold. WTF was that about anyways?
  22. I knew that, too, AZSIOUX, but still thought my comments were better. Side note: Second best line nickname of all-time: Philadelphia's Legion of Doom
  23. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Can they win a couple of Stanley Cups first before you annoint them as the line of the century? This isn't exactly Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, and Sid Abel. Not yet, anyways... Besides, no other nickname in hockey can top Detroit's famed "Production Line."
