Wow. I passed on making the trip for Sunday's game because I figured tickets would be hard to come by thanks to Wisconsin's win against Denver on Saturday. Apparently there were thousands of good seats still available. I think the ESPNU announcers commented a dozen times last night "the atmosphere here is unbelievable." Gee, a regional game where the home team is playing. Whooda thunk the atmosphere would be loud?

Unbelievable 3rd period and OT. I know a knock on Hakstol's teams over the past four years was that record when going into the 3rd period whent he team was behind. I actually think it's a GOOD thing that Notre Dame has made the Frozen Four. College hockey is a niche market sport and maybe some success for the Golden Domers will give our great game a little more exposure. Congratulations Fighting Irish!

There will be lots of Sioux fans there tomorrow night. Always a good crowd there when UND is playing hockey.

Some Gopher friends of mine asked me what I would do if my son were to skate for the Minnesota Gophers someday. I told them I would be in Mariucci Arena standing proud while watching him be called out for pre-game introductions...then I'd boo his a** off like I do the rest of the Gophers.

No way. I used to detest those snot-nosed Edina and Bloomington Jefferson kids who went to school at UND and cheered vehemently for the Gophers when Doug Woog brought his team to town.

I'm going to guess the same way someone from Minneapolis/St Paul could go to college in Grand Forks and become a Sioux fan.
