  1. ...and yet they managed to take the current #1 team in Hockey East to overtime before losing...
  2. You realize that the #2 ranked Gophers have three sweeps all year too, right? Two of those were before the snow fell and the third was in January against Alaska-Anchorage!
  3. LOL. Don't take the cyanide pill just yet. Is Minnesota shutting down the season because they lost to Denver on Friday night? I suppose being ranked #1 and overwhelming NCAA favorite to win the title is the way to go, right? Just as the 97 Sioux...or 98 Michigan...or 06 Michigan State...or 11 UMD... Oh, wait, you mean there STILL might be a chance for the Sioux THIS year?
  4. Why is that? UND was swept at CC on the last weekend of the 1997 season and Minnesota swept to earn a share of the MacNaughton Cup. Both teams have 1997 WCHA Champions banners hanging from their rafters. What's there to be 'pissed' about?
  5. Yes, it's been a little sparse some years but the last 2-3 have had 15-30 people attending. The Hogg knows we are coming...I think I've set this up for 6-7 years now.
  6. LOL...Gopher fans singing 'nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye' song to Denver. Apparently a home split might be reason for students to rush the ice in about 30 seconds...
  7. The Hoggsbreath is a 5-7 minute ride north of St Paul on 35E, then exit west-bound Highway 36. Your first exit will be Rice Street...take a right there and go one mile north. Easy on, easy off, easy to find.
  8. A trio of 'Three Amigos' costumes is infinitely more amusing...
  9. I'm inclined to lean Friday myself...and I agree on the Friday brunch right before the 2pm semi-final being a good call. It worked out well last year and helps out the out-of-town folks taking in the Saturday afternoon Wild game. I just want to make sure some long-time brunch attendees can make it before making the final call. Plus a lot depends yet on when UND will play...
  10. Minnesota has worn those before...Can't recall when but I have seen them at least once and probably more often than that. Did you see Michigan's yellow jersey last night against Ferris State? Yuck.
  11. Some kick-a** door-prizes are in the works for this one. You won't want to miss this Hoggsbreath brunch!
  12. I'm as bald as a cue ball, GFG...is that a shot at me?
  13. Actually, this is the NON-UND Hockey thread...
  14. It is helpful to know if people could make either day. Thank you.
  15. Most projections don't account for any upsets in the small-conference tournaments which upset the apple cart. The lower-level seeds from big conferences are the ones who wind up getting left out of the dance when those happen. Back to college hockey...what are the odds of Michigan State deciding they made a major mistake this year and replacing the former CCHA commissioner after one year?
  16. At 11:00 am, you can have either breakfast OR lunch! It's a win-win! Besides, my Sioux throwback jerseys are all getting numbers sewn on them as we speak. Odds are good that I will be spilling maple syrup on one wearing one at the Hoggsbreath regardless of whether we're there on Friday or Saturday morning.
  17. The difference is that EVERYONE in St Paul knows when the Final Five is in town. In Minneapolis, half of the people you run into won't have any idea what all the hockey jerseys are doing around town, ESPECIALLY when the Gophers aren't playing there.
  18. 5 votes for Friday and 5 for Saturday...let's see some more attendees. I'm working on door prizes again this year but no guarantees. I will also talk to Tom and Jossie about having something Sioux-related put on the marquee out front!
  19. REALLY? BEFORE last night's game as well? The Gophers have 4 wins in their last 12 games! http://aol.sportingn...-score-big-wins
  20. OUR team? How many points did YOU score? The win last night won't get Minnesota in the NCAA's. That 71-45 blow-out at the hands of Ohio State counts too.
  21. ...and the fund-raising begins in Madison for the million bucks to buy out Eaves...yikes.
