And got smoked by Minnesota in 2003. UNH's big player (forget his name) was injured in the semi-final win. The Gophers took UNH out behind the woodshed in the title game.

Spot-on. It's a shame that some good coaches are run out of town (especially in college football) because they can't win an NCAA title. It's not that easy. One hockey coach I'd like to see win an NCAA title before he retires: Dick Umile of UNH.

Yes, the Cleveland Cavaliers is a cool nickname...shortening that to Cleveland "Cavs" is just plain dumb. You can't be the Norsemen because that would create ambiguity with women's athletics. Norsemen and Norsewomen just will NOT happen, sorry.

In all seriousness, the '98 Wolverines beating the Sioux at Yost wasn't nearly as big of an upset as people think...that Michigan team was loaded. Had that game been in Grand Forks and UND pounced on that 2-0 lead like they did, I think Michigan would have folded like a pup tent and lost 7-0.

Well, everybody knows that the only reason Herb Brooks wasn't allowed to take the 1979 Gophers and nobody else was because the Olympic committee only felt it fair to have a few kids from outside of Minnesota represent the USA.

Ken Morrow was indeed a Bowling Green Falcon before his Olympic experience. He then had a pretty lengthy NHL career with the NY Islanders.

My blaming Dave Hakstol for Jason Herter and Russ Romaniuk leaving school early was meant entirely in jest. Or maybe you haven't been paying attention to the 'blame everything on Hakstol' for the better part of the past 10 pages of this thread by a certain poster who shall remain nameless.
