C'mon, Fetch. You really want to go "all in" (pun intended) on 18,000 tourists showing up to see a couple of non-home teams play hockey?
-
LOL! The fans of Phoenix can't even "flock" to Glendale to see the Coyotes...you think they will be heading to Vegas?

http://watchdog.org/144884/fighting-sioux/ Now we're proposing resolutions to ban thoughts from being spoken out loud. I suggest that candidate Thorson should replace the (D) in front of his name with a ( C ) or at the very least, an (S).
-
I have to believe that there are some moderate-to-slightly-left-of-center folks who may disagree with those statements...and hate to generalize all left-wingers as "lunatic."
-
Wow. I propose a resolution banning you from stating or having an opinion. Kudos to you, Kyle Thorson, but I think the (D) in front of your name should be replaced with a ( C ) or at the very least an (S).

Kansas City's Sprint Center has been around since 2007...and has only had a nibble from the Penguins in terms of a team relocating there. Even Mario Lemieux admitted that that was simply a scam to get Pittsburgh to build the Penguins a new arena.

I'd agree, Fetch, but is Las Vegas big enough to support a hockey team with enough fans from its own community? A city population of around 600,00 and metro area population of under 2 million? By contrast, Seattle has just under 650,000 in the city and a metro population of 3.5 million. How many fans are going to fly to Vegas and take in a hockey game on any given night? Yes, if the Wild, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Penguins, etc. are in town, but how about the Blue Jackets, Panthers, or Predators? I'm not sold on the idea...

I only went back 15 years...2014 - 15 = 1999 I expect the Florida chatter on this site to pick up since the greatest Sioux hockey player ever, Rocco, will be leading the Florida Panthers Seattle Thunderbirds to Stanley Cups for years to come. Wouldn't that be great?

Ouch!

No shirts allowed on campus? Only until I come back to campus and take my shirt off...that should lead to a repeal of the no-shirt rule on campus pretty quickly!

William Bell A Direct result of the Republican Party, Faux News and Hate Radio, the new America. James M Wardell absolute morons, great parenting from Im sure, so called republican christians. Carol Grooms I'll bet my next drink of Jack Daniels that these TURDS are all Republicans. They are learning a lot in higher education aren't they. How to screw minorities. Isn't that the Republican trend? 1 · 14 hours ago · Edited Melinda Pagliaro-Parker I'm not surprised, a white, right state... 1 · 19 hours ago Matt Coleman I wonder how many of these "Siouxper Drunk" students have parents who are registered as Republicans. Matt Coleman I think it's a valid discussion to have on this subject, Lucas. It's Republicans and conservatives who keep insisting that institutionalized racism no longer exists in the U.S., so I would like to know where they would get that idea if their own kids are bigots. Anyone else noticing a theme here with these responses...

I'm no constitutional expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Ole Miss obviously wanted the flag banned and had to come up with a work-around to do it. I'm not a total moron as to what the intent of their action was. Similarly, UND and its high-buck staff attorneys can probably think of something similar.
-
Sarcasm Goon...since 90% of the discussion here is Bruins and Penguins...
-
The Penguins and Bruins have both been eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs. I suppose it's time for the Mod team to lock this thread since there's nothing to see here. In the last 15 years: 4 times, the Bruins did not make the playoffs 5 times eliminated in the first round of the playoffs 4 times eliminated in the second round of the playoffs I guess if you throw in the Stanley Cup Finals win and even-more recent Stanley Cup Finals loss, then you can say that Boston has been at or near the top of the mountain RECENTLY, but I wouldn't say "typically." But that's just my two cents...
-
That's really a gutless play. Kudos for Montreal for not taking the bait.

https://www.facebook.com/edshow "Expel them!" OK...and if they're not students, then what? Tar-and-feather them? Revoke their US citizenship? Force them to either take a cyanide pill or jump from the Demers Ave bridge into the Red River? What would appease the mob? Judging from the comments appearing on "The Ed Show," it would appear that not only are all of these kids students of the University of North Dakota, their parents are all members of the Republican Party! It's time to #MarchforChange...it's time for President Kelley to take action and ban Young Republicans as a campus organization.

But...but...but...the UN was training them...this is a total outrage and demands world attention. Oh, wait, it's not Islamophobia? This woman's a Christian? Nevermind... http://www.sd.undp.o...omote-good-gov/ So I'm Muslim automatically if I'm born in Sudan. Whew...dodged a big bullet there should I have wanted to be something else - or not religious at all. I'm sure Egypt, Somalia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, and other "peaceful" countries are lining up to condemn this action, though. RIght?

Huffington Post reporting that missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 pilot was last seen in skyway lounge wearing Siouxper drunk t-shirt...

Keep repeating the lie often enough and it eventually becomes the truth... Minneapolis police urinate on Native American man and are reprimanded...the story is major news all over the Twin Cities...in fact, I still recall the video of the man in front of rolling cameras yelling "THEY URINATED ON ME." http://www.pulsetc.c...p=Print&sid=333 Of course, just over three years later, after this case winds thru various appeals...here's what REALLY happened... http://www.gpo.gov/f...-cv-04097-0.pdf

policymic: North Dakota students mock Native Americans with super offensive #SiouxperDrunk shirts North Dakota had voted to drop the Fighting Sioux mascot in 2012, after the NCAA declared University of North Dakota’s Fighting Sioux nickname abusive and hostile. But some UND students apparently don’t care, as evidenced by the shirts they wore to the school’s Springfest celebrations last weekend. Now it's a UND-sanctioned event...

OK, I'll imagine...nah...I'd rather not. Sorry, Goon. That play on DeKeyser was simply brutal. What a cheap shot. I guess Iginla should have signed with Chicago...or the Rangers.
-
Great minds think alike.

Chase Iron Eyes @Lastrealndn17h Doesn't matter that #SiouxperDrunk was or was not on UND property, clearly a pejorative jab at our people. Were the offenders UND students? This is what we're up against...doesn't matter if these were UND students or not...whether it was on UND property or not...hell, it wouldn't have mattered if this was a group of 90 year old Satan-worshipping convicted sex offenders who had just sacrificed a litter of puppies on live TV...had they been wearing these t-shirts, THAT'S the only important thing that would continue to be emphasized by folks on Twitter as well as your local and now national news media.

Don't worry, I'm sure Mrs O will soon tweet out a picture of her holding a card with a witty hash-tag on it... I'd bet 9 out of 10 of Friday's change-marchers couldn't identify Sudan on a map of Africa if I spotted them every other country on the continent...

There's a reason why Chara wears the Bruins' "C" and Lucic doesn't...
