Oh please. Anyone who saw Union College play the last three years knew that the Dutchmen were a serious threat to win a title this last season. Long before 99% of hockey fans learned how to spell "Gostisbehere." Now you're playing into the mindset that NDSU fans claim - that a win over the Bison is akin to winning the Super Bowl - the rest of the season be damned.

I was talking specifically last season, darell, not just a random season. Any given Saturday, yes, I get that, but there is absolutely NO REASON WHATSOEVER to think that UND could have pulled off a Miracle at the Alerus last season, let alone a victory in Fargo.

Indiana State also happened to beat a Southern Illinois squad in 2012 for the first time in ten tries - in Carbondale - by a score of 24-3. The same Saluki team that came to Fargo a few weeks later and lost to the Bison 23-17... Indiana State also lost at Big 10 Indiana in the Hoosiers' home opener that year 24-17. Indiana's record wasn't great but here are some of their other results from 2012: vs Michigan State 31-27 L vs Ohio State 52-49 L vs Iowa 24-21 W The Sycamores were no slouch in 2012.

The only side that seems to be screaming bloody murder for this game to resume is UND's. The perception, like it or not, seems to be that NDSU doesn't care who they play as long as they're playing for championships. UND seems to care only about getting NDSU back on the schedule again. Perhaps it's time UND tried a little reverse psychology and ignored NDSU for a while... Let's be honest here for a second...in hindsight, how glad are you now that this game wasn't resumed last fall? The Bison might have hung 100 up on North Dakota's defense.

C'mon, darell - one can appreciate your Sioux loyalty, but for cripes' sake, pick which side of your argument you want to go with and run with it. If NDSU is such a third-rate school, why are you wasting so much time and energy begging for a UND opportunity to play the Bison?

Could probably order some more of these if there was enough interest...

Leave it to our good friends at the University of Marxism-Leninism, er, Minnesota, to lead the charge to prevent the NFL Redskins from wearing their uniforms at TCF Bank Stadium this season. Of course, they'd gladly play the Florida State Seminoles without so much as a whimper of disgust over that particular nickname.

If nothing else, it'll be fun watching 'em play outdoors!

I've mentioned the "outta sight, outta mind" mentality over in hockey with respect to Minnesota and wanting North Dakota off the schedule - and I think there's some truth to this with respect to NDSU's thoughts on keeping UND football off the docket.

It's all fun and games until the Nazi and Hitler references come out.

Much better. Nic Dowd (22 goals, 18 assists) is obviously a big loss for SCSU. Four-year player for the Huskies. I honestly don't know too much else about their squad, but he was solid last year. AZ State's only real choice would be the NCHC. I'm sure Colorado College and Denver would both like that road trip.

I saw the Stanley Cup in 2008 when it was in Eau Claire WI for three hours...on the 6th of July. I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of 4,000 people got a chance to see it that day. Super cool.

You consider North Dakota football to be in the upper FCS group...based on WHAT, can I ask?

With all due respect, If UND football is just a hair below the level of a P5, then NDSU must currently be in talks with Jim Delaney about becoming the next member of the Big 10.

And, of course, you think UND belongs in that G5/upper FCS schools, right?

I just wanted to pay tribute to one of Sioux hockey's biggest fans, THETRIOUXPER, on August 7, 2014, the 5th anniversary of his passing away. Troy, you're gone but not forgotten here in the hockey forums section of SiouxSports.com. Tell the Boss that while we appreciate his helping Union College save us all from a year of Gopher smack-talk, that we could use another small favor next spring. I'm sure he's already gotten an earful from you about that damn nickname change thing...
