It's not just them...I saw it last year too. I guess it's OK if you WIN the wild-card game, sure, then you're in the playoffs, but getting to game #163 really doesn't count.

You must be in the minority then because going back to the San Jose State predictions, it would seem a lot of folks expected 3-1.

I'm not sure how much time a team can drain from the clock by consistently running 3 plays and then punting all game long. Am I missing something with this "strategy"?

Ian Kinsler has really saved the Tigers this season. Prince Fielder would have hit into a DP in the 9th. ZERO confidence in Detroit's bullpen.

I don't think their "collapse" has been that bad - I remember earlier in the season folks on ESPN saying that they figured once Washington got healthy, they'd blow past the Braves - and they have. How bad do the signings of Dan Uggla and B.J. Upton look now though? I think Kate Upton might have a higher batting average.

Question for you 1AAfan...why does Montana State U try to promote the "M" so much? I've never seen a school try to brand their image that way - almost to spite the U of Montana. Can't imagine Michigan State trying to something similar so I was curious about your own MSU.

The two that struck me the most were Sens and Bolts. I simply cannot believe that NHL marketing experts felt that a team nickname (who says "Sens" anyways?) and non-name (they're the Lightning, NOT the Bolts) on the front of a jersey seemed like a great idea. The Nokes? Almost as bad as 'Yotes instead of Coyotes.

Count me out. Nothing worse than Seminoles being shortened to 'Noles, Louisville to The 'Ville, the Lightning being called the Bolts, the Senators being called the Sens, and Nationals the Nats.
