  1. Nothing personal against CC, it's just that UAH came back from the dead and I want to see that program succeed.
  2. I edited my post slightly before your reply and wanted that reflected here. I was thinking of the 5-0 Yale game at the ECAC tournament, but their opponent was Union and not Quinnipiac. Quinnipiac turned around and shut out Yale 3-0 the next day in the 3rd place game, hence the combined effort at embarrassing Yale. In games Yale absolutely needed to play well in and win, they were shut out by a combined 8-0 score. Of course, we all know what happened later as things bounced the Bulldogs' way in other conferences and they made the tournament after all...
  3. No question it was embarrassing. No question. Last season, a day after whoopin' UMD 6-1 at home, Minnesota laid a 2-6 goose egg at Mariucci against the Bulldogs, a game which saw UMD lead 3-0 after 1, 5-1 after 2, and 6-1 with less than 9:00 left in the game before the Gophers managed to score their 2nd goal. Two years ago, Union and Quinnipiac absolutely embarrassed Yale in the ECAC tournament. A few weeks later, Yale shut out QU in the national title game. Egg laid...and then avenged. Everyone has an ugly loss once or twice a year. Let's hope UND's one egg for 2014-2015 was the home opener.
  4. 0-2 > 1-1? Wailing and gnashing of teeth over here but "don't worry, be happy" over on Bucky's site?
  5. The year 2000 and a Sioux NCAA title: practically forever ago for Sioux fans The years 2002 and 2003 when Minnesota won back-to-back NCAA titles: seems like yesterday for Sioux fans
  6. Based upon your one-game-in-person and one-game-on-TV assessment?
  7. Dear God, I sincerely appreciate the help you gave UNC yesterday, although they fell just short. For the love of all that is holy, please, although it pains me to say this, help out Jameis Winston and FSU next weekend against the Irish. Thank you. MafiaMan

    Obsession

Rest assured, ambulance chasers all over the country would be lining up to take on his case and sue for injury compensation...
  9. "Simple question," LOL! extend bubbba? how many nattys doez bohle hav? sinple questone.
  10. My point would be the same had Hakstol led the 2004-2005 team to an NCAA title win over Denver. There would STILL be folks arguing here that "yea, but he won it with Blais' recruits," as if the previous coach would have just cake-walked to a national championship while the guy who replaced him was just lucky enough to land in the right spot at the right time.
  11. This is the same classy guy who reacted like THIS when Anaheim's Bruce Boudreau put his tough guys on the ice at the end of last year's season opener (a 6-0 lead for Colorado with seconds left in the game)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y2OOc6WTrg
  12. Williams' first title at UNC was won in his second season at the school...with prize recruit freshman Marvin Williams playing a key role in the season and title game against Illinois. He was recruited, obviously, by Williams, to UNC.

  14. Here's how the whole US International game came about in the discussion...I simply pointed out the worst loss in Sioux hockey history bar none...although few folks remember it because of what happened a few months later. There was no comparison to the '86-'87 team at all, however, just like that team, should the '14-'15 team win an NCAA title next spring, five years from now, nobody will be P&M'ing about losing 5-0 at home to Bemidji in the season opener.
  15. While not quite Brady-in-for-Bledsoe, I think Oxbow6 is spot-on here. At the very least, who the QB is should be at the top of the list at the coaches meeting on Monday morning...and at the GOBC meeting as well.
  16. ...And Maine is currently 2-4 with wins over 2-5 Norfolk and 2-5 Towson.
  17. Looks like it's gonna be!
  18. Good thing those Big 10 schools aren't concerned with playing small-time town teams anymore...
  19. But you wouldn't even guarantee York winning one with Toews... Whine about 2006 and 2007 all you want, but York's teams didn't even win titles those years, having lost to Wisconsin and Cinderella story Michigan State, respectively.
  20. Maybe it's because Yale and Union recruit guys who want to win NCAA hockey championships and UND recruits guys who want to win Stanley Cups?
  21. The Seawolves are two periods away from sending Maine AND Wisconsin home with an 0-for-Alaska road trip (with help from the Nanooks, obviously)...Big 10 Hockey...it's FAN-tastic!
  22. So what are we supposed to imagine York doing with Duncan-Oshie-Toews that Hak couldn't do?
  23. You're guaranteeing two national titles in the two years Toews hypothetically spent at BC? Would York have made Duncan a two or three-time Hobey Baker winner? Oshie a 50 goal scorer?
  24. Q) How many nattys do these fine college programs have in the last 15 years? Maine, Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, Colorado College, Cornell, New Hampshire A) zero
  25. Signs of the day (held together by two ladies) at Georgia/Missouri game: "I used to be a gurley girl..." "but now I'm a chubby girl" I don't know the exact numbers, but Texas haf outgained Oklahoma something like 250 yards to 29 thru two quarters...and trailed 17-13.
