Great hockey at a lot of those schools. Yost Ice Arena is near the top of my list of places to watch a game. I also enjoyed the original Mariucci Arena. Very intimidating buildings. I just can't picture Arizona State drawing well in downtown Phoenix.
I don't think it is a good name choice either...I just happen to like the name and the logo though. Hard to make wheat look good in green, white, and black though.
I posted Golden State's old logo above, darell...who could ever forget that futuristic steroid-ridden figure carrying a lightning bolt? 1990's logo awfulness at its best!
Another member of the $100 million arena cult...yea, that's a sure-fire guarantee of success, isn't it?
Arizona State shouldn't even bother trying until they can spend $150 million and top REA.
I don't think "parity" is the word I would use to describe such a situation. I think "apocalypse" or the phrase "end of days" would be more appropriate.
Oh please. Boston College was an afterthought in college hockey for about 50 years. Now, plenty of folks think they're the gold standard. In, what, 14 seasons? Amazing.
I never insinuated anything of the sort...but the days of 3/4 scholarship offers to Minnesota because it is a "privilege" to wear the M went the way of the wooly mammoth a long time ago.
Thanks, Big 10 Network, too. I thought the idea of non-Friday and Saturday night hockey was increased exposure for the sport! What are you showing tonight?
