That’s a true story, BTW. I believe it was the Blake Wheeler goal year. One of my kids’ friend’s dad was at the game and going absolutely crazy after when he saw me. I told him, “great win, we’ll see what happens next weekend.” “What’s next weekend?” ”Uhhh…the national tournament?” ”Huh? I thought this was it.” ”Nope. Good luck!” Saw him at the rink a week later after the Chris Porter goal sent UND to the Frozen Four. He wasn’t exactly as friendly.

RIT would be a much better NCAA tournament candidate for an upset W over a higher seed.

I’m unaware of any other college sports team that wasted more time on message board geeks than that one.

There won’t be an apology, we all know that. I’d love to see Jake start off tonight’s broadcast with, “Welp, UND gets a chance to extend its season tonight and hopefully keep Coach Berry from finishing with less than 20 wins for the 3rd time in 8 years at the ship’s helm…”
