It goes from 10:30 am to about 1:00 pm. 35W north out of Minneapolis to Highway 36 east. Exit at Rice Street and go 1 mile north. Easy on, easy off, and plenty of Sioux fans in the crowd there.
Yes, they were ranked quite highly in the Pairwise before the HE tournament. By the same token, Minnesota would also be in the NCAA tournament even if they didn't play another game.
So when #1 seed UND played at 4:00 pm, it's because we got screwed over by the WCHA and the Gopher Rule. Then when we played at 4:00 pm in the NCHC, it's because the #1 seed needs the rest and likes the extra time off before playing on Saturday or avoids the quick turn-around in the 3rd place game. Now the #1 seed Denver wants the late start because they're on Mountain Time and doesn't have to interrupt nappy-time in the early afternoon.
#Gopher Rule - the myth is debunked!
I just wanted to thank Bob Motzko for a job well done on this tournament. St Cloud State's season may have ended on a didappointing note, but the job he and his coaching staff did in this tournament made 2016-2017 worth remembering for USA hockey fans all over the world. Nice job, coach. See you at the Hogg on Saturday!
Apparently not. If Denver has any say-so, I would think they would want the early start. If the game is moved to the night-cap for "attendance purposes," we can all stop complaining about the old "Gopher Rule" at the Final Five!
