And that’s a credit to UNO and how they played. Take the middleman out of the equation and make it UND’s performance vs Denver’s? Frankly, I’m glad I didn’t have to witness a 4 pm seminal with UND losing to the Pioneers 8 or 9 to 1.

Doesn’t matter. We have folks complaining about the small rink where UND is going…the attendance issue works both ways.

Cue the Minutemen getting smoked 8-0 in their first tournament game while the Tigers watch from their dorm room couches…

Ridiculous for a regional? I’ll tell you what’s ridiculous for a regional…the 2016 championship game in St Paul between Ferris State and Denver on Easter Sunday. In an arena that holds 18,000+, I was one of maybe 250 people in attendance. Why are we complaining about small arenas?

Denver never appeared to be in any sort of danger - like at all. Contrast that to UND getting outworked in all phases of the game a day earlier. Cool that some of the boys got home in time for the Sam Hunt concert though. That worked out nicely.

Straw man argument. Put 20+ years of tournaments in Denver instead of St. Paul and there would be plenty of Denver and CC fans in attendance. I just dropped over $500 for a weekend tournament in my own backyard…don’t have enough spare cash in my dresser drawer every spring to fund a 2-4 day hotel stay in Denver. Maybe that’s just me though…

1 NCAA tournament win since 2016…against AIC. If it’s 1 and done again in 2024…yikes.

To be honest, I’m kind of relieved that I don’t have to crawl out of bed at 8 am to get to the Hogg by 10 am after another sad-sack showing by the team in this tournament. 2010, 2011, and 2012 seem like forever ago…

I will consider the swan song next March, we’ll see how it shakes out.

The difference in speed between Denver and North Dakota is beyond unbelievable today. It’s almost like one of the two teams wearing white actually wants to WIN this tournament.

So we roll into the NCAA’s with a goalie who hasn’t played in 3 weeks or a freshman whose hot streak ended in disaster tonight. Awesome.

Welp, it was mentioned a few times to me during the Miami game earlier tonight (or last night as the case may be now), so I guess the question should be asked… The annual Hoggsbreath event has happened since 2001 save for the Covid year of 2020.
