It all boils down to changing the rules for the post-season after a different set of criteria was used to decide the outcome of games in the regular season. Florida made the playoffs a few years ago thanks to an astronomical shoot-out record and was promptly bounced out in the first round. Why is a regular-season gimmick part of the criteria that decides who makes the playoffs and who doesn't?

OK, so why don't we make hockey a full-time 3x3 game?

No thanks. Give me whites at home vs a variety of road colors instead of green (or the occasional black) vs white for every home game.

I'm picking up on your snarkasm...the good news is, there are typically more than 20 fans at a men's basketball game.

I'll use these comparisons once again... Imagine an MLB game with no SS or RF after 9 innings of play in order to increase the chance of a hit accompanied by an exciting finish. How about the NFL going 9-man in OT? Doesn't that sound fresh and exciting?

Peter Stasiuk, a player on the 1963 NCAA championship team, also passed away late last week. Condolences go out to his family and friends as well.
