I'm not a fan of the fake/counterfeit products either. The prices are tempting but I'd rather support Home of Economy, Schields, or the REA gift shop. Here is some FYI on some counterfeit products. Just want to pass along this personal story. This summer I'll be making my fourth trip to China. While I was there the first time I was approached by many people selling unofficial items for the Olympics. I asked some of my Chinese friends about this and they said DO NOT buy these things. I was then told about how terrible work conditions for these children are that make these items. (Much worse than the regular factories.) The locals don't even want to buy these things. On my third trip to China I was visiting with someone at a "home church" that the government tried to close down. I met a man that had been arrested for starting the church and was sent to prison for several years. He told me that there were many persecuted Christians in these prisons making a lot of cheap fake items that are sold. Listening to him describe working 20 hours a day sometimes to meet a quota was enough for me to tell others not to buy these things. My wife and I are going again this summer to spend a month as missionaries in China up near the Russian border. I just found out that hockey is gaining popularity up there in that region so I'm excited about using my love for hockey and the Lord to talk with more people. Hockey in China

Do you think having a few players from the past couple of years that decided to stay an extra year or two helped some of our current guys make a decision to stay longer? It would be great to see VV #29 suited up again for the Sioux another year!

Where was a link like this yesterday when I was watching Lacrosse!!!!!!!

Next year we could potentially have just 3 seniors on the team after having 8 this year. At first I thought that was a low number to only have 3 in your senior class, but then checked the past few years. Of course we have lost many over the years to early departures. I hope everyone comes back that can. I'll try and get the rest of the schedule for next season this week. 2000-2001= 4 2001-2002=3 2002-2003=3 2003-2004=3 2004-2005=9 2005-2006=2 2006-2007=3 2007-2008=4

Thank you seniors for the numerous hours you spent in the weightroom, off season training, and hard work on the ice. I'm proud of you for the leadership this year and for leaving your legacy of hanging a WCHA banner in the REA. You gave us many great memories.

Saw this on uscho thread but they said Oct.16-17 at the Ralph. We go to the U of M too.

We're going down for the championship night on Saturday. I was able to sell my Friday tickets to some Bulldog fans last night.

I hope next year they go back to the Hamms Building. I enjoyed that much more. Seems like people were in so many different venues . If the weather had been nice it would have been great to be outside where it was held.

I witnessed some Sioux fans being totally disrespectful as well. I hate it when I see that and that it was started by our fans. The usher came down and threaten to boot them out if their swearing continued. We were in a section with a lot of Sioux fans and there is no need to belittle anyone from another team because they are fans of that program. I have had tickets when I was surrounded by other teams fans it really isn't very entertaining to be hassled during the whole game. On another note Staalock played well, we had many chances and didn't finish it on many shifts. Let's get one today, get this loss behind us and roll into the REgional. 5 more wins for the season is what I want.

It's already started. for the fun of it I saw several West Region tickets on ebay already.

Someone had used these earlier this year and I thought they were pretty funny. GOPH BUSTERS (like the Ghost Busters sign from the movie..with a gopher and the red circle around it, and a slash through it.) COACHES FROM COLORADO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM WALKING ON THE ICE.

This appeared in the ST.Cloud Times today. There is a bill that a former Gopher hockey player is trying to get passed that would stop scholarships for athletes from other countries that attend universities in MN. link

Will it be hard to get tickets for the NCAA Championship game?

I was surprised to see so many for sale on ebay already. I remember in St. Louis there were tons of tickets for sale too. -

No, my question was, "Where is Paul Shafer from?" Another time it was "what state is Dave from?"I did eat at Rupperts at noon before the show. Biff Henderson was in there so got my photo taken with both of those guys. I was there in the summer and inside the Ed Sullivan theater it must have been about 35 degrees! Glad I wore a jacket and sweats to the show.

If you really want it the show will send you a copy of it but they charge for it. The reason I know is that 5 years ago after returning home from coaching a game I put the show on. As I was falling asleep I thought I heard my name. When I woke up they were doing "Viewer Mail" and they were reading my letter. After the letter was read they did a short skit on it. My letter was: "Hey Dave, How fast can you run the mile?" His reply was "Oh, in about an hour. But our cue card man Tony can run a mile in under 4 minutes." Then they did a dream sequence with Tony running around NYC in just under 4 minutes. I got the tape a week later and it was shown at the school where I coach at. Pretty cool. If anyone is ever in NYC and you want some tips on getting into the show I can share. I have attended 4 shows there and one week I went in twice. PM me if interested. It also might be on cbs.com under the David Letterman show.

RT O'Sullivan's in Mesa. I went there last year and it was great. Met a lot of ND fans, alum, and it was a good time.
