There is a battle over signature matching for votes in Pennsylvania, the law is on the books that certain votes can’t be allowed unless it can be verified through signature matching. Democrats are crying voting suppression while republicans are simply saying the law needs to be enforced until the law is changed if that’s what people want. Until it’s changed, it is law and must be enforced.
-
If you are talking about Pennsylvania, republicans are simply asking for a law that is already on the books to be enforced. If you disagree then work to change the law, don’t disregard the law because you don’t like it.

Law 80 seems like an upstanding person. I disagree with his politics, but he seems to be an intelligent person and someone with a measure of integrity who would come back to the discussion and continue the conversation. Hayduke will never be heard from again on this thread if Trump wins is my prediction as none of the attributes I use to describe Law 80 above apply to Hayduke.

It's just incredible that this would be happening. It defies all logic. You flee a place that has been run into the ground because of policy decisions and then try to implement those same policy decisions in your new location.
-
In your opinion are these "refugees" self aware enough to realize what lead to the demise of their previous state? In other words, will they continue to be majority Democrat voters when they land in their new location?

As the saying goes, that's why they play the game. We'll find out soon enough.

In other news, the Hatfields think the McCoys aren't trustworthy, the Capulets think the Montagues are mean and Red Sox fans think Yankees fans are the absolute worst.

Don't let reality get in the way of a good Orange man bad rant.
-
I often wonder about your last sentence, what would it actually take for people to realize the news they are getting isn't reality. For me it was two defining moments. The Charlottesville coverage of Trump and the MS13 coverage of Trump. These aren't moments where the media has taken things selectively out of context and it's a slight tweak on reality, these are moments where the media flat out lied to the American people about President Trump's words. Sadly, even though the information is readily available, so many people still believe Trump called White Supremacists very fine people and that he called mexicans sub human rapists. So if those moments don't solidify in people's minds that the media is lying to them, I'm not sure what will.

Trump has to be to blame, it couldn't possibly be that protecting the most powerful man in the world is important to our country and the world.
-
What a ridiculous example to cite if trying to make a case for Trump being selfish. Are businesses being selfish by boarding up their windows? Are citizens being selfish by purchasing firearms in record numbers? Your TDS is showing.
-
You don’t live in the real world. If Biden is the president and the republicans keep the senate there will be no cooperation. We’ve crossed a political threshold as a country and there is no going back. People working across the aisle is going to become more and more rare. The two parties have simply moved too far apart to create any acceptable compromise when negotiating.

Harris ahead of Trump? So you are voting completely based on personality? She is further left than Bernie, objectively so.

This whole idea of looking around the country and thinking one place is doing better than another is complete folly. Someone please point me to one area of our country that we can see some measure of impact our actions have had on the spread of this virus? Places that locked down, places that didn’t, places that had mask mandates early on and places that didn’t put mandates in place until later. Step back for a second without the partisan bias we all have and see that no matter what we do this virus eventually is running its course in all areas of this country. Nobody did it “the right way”, though I would argue that if the virus is going to make its way through a population anyway, why close businesses, just let people decide if they feel safe, take precautions that make you and your family comfortable for your particular situation and move forward. This is our only option, nobody or no thing is coming to save us here.

Germany and France too

Any of you left leaning folks want to amend your analysis of the European countries’ leaders handling this better than Trump as they head into lockdowns again tonight?
-
Balance is quite different than what Hayduke offers the discussion. You at least bring discussion points at times and insults are minimal. He is a never ending stream of non-sensical and illogical insults.
-
Clearly Trumps fault.
-
Correct and we didn't see any major outbreaks among essential workers at least not in Minnesota.
-
People have retreated to their corners on this one, but how can proponents of continued lockdowns and mandated restrictions not see what's happening around the world? Lockdown all you want and you're just kicking the can down the road. Protect yourself and protect the vulnerable and let the rest of us get back to keeping the country from collapsing. It's the only way forward on this one no matter how many emotional arguments get made about not caring about Grandma and Grandpa. It's the only way forward.

Exactly. I've looked taken the approach in the last 4 or 5 months that the original message we received from leadership was the only pure message, meaning non politically driven. So look at the message in late march and you'll see exactly how this has played out. -We can't stop this virus, we only hope to not overwhelm the hospitals, so let's shut down for 14 days and ramp up PPE production to make sure aren't overwhelmed. -Cloth masks have almost no effect and can actually end up being detrimental because people will have a false sense of security, touch their face too often and not use it properly to have any effect(Osterholm quote)

If only others would stop quoting him, then we'd really have something.

Quick google search reveals there are 93 US attorneys at any given time assuming some of them weren’t assistant district attorneys. Given you are talking 60-65 years worth my quick math tell me the number of US attorneys that have been appointed over that time is quite large. 20 doesn’t seem like a significant number.

Out of how many?
