When mocking someone's education, it is prudent to proofread your own posts.
-
Precisely. But, without all of the UND fans clamoring of course. What do you mean "now will be fired in your direction also"?
-
If this was NDSU's discipline problem, would you brush it aside so easily? Herd is right, the word hypocrites definitely is coming to mind.
-
Whoa, easy man. Nobody is putting a halo on anyone. GT is no different than most ADs when these things happen. I'm just holding true to what I have said all along. These things happen at EVERY SCHOOL in the country, and punishment is handed out internally without suspensions in most cases. Just find it ironic that when the shoe is on the other foot, there isn't an uproar and phrases like loss of institutional control don't get thrown out. Weird how none of this has been reported on. Guess media does play a role in public perception, contrary to the beliefs that were cited by most on this board this summer.
-
Much bigger issues than off the field run-ins with the law? That certainly wasn't the response from the fans on this board this summer when the shoe was on the other foot. Coming from the program that has "suspended players for missing class", I would have expected a swift and measured response to such heinous action as a college student drinking.

Anyone going to address the elephant in his post?
-
It certainly doesn't bother me, I am in complete agreement with Johnny though.

I don't doubt it, never have, but I've also never cared in the slightest. Just find it odd that he is being so disingenuous about using the name. Out of one side of his mouth, he uses that name as to somehow disparage the University, while out of the other side saying "why would you be embarrassed, it's a great name". His logic doesn't hold up, as usual.
-
Your rhetoric and talking points are dull and have been completely played out. Get a new trick.
-
My guess is your real name isn't actually Hayduke, but that's what everyone on here calls you. I'm not embarrassed in the least about that name. Agriculture is a necessary and noble profession and in many ways is on the cutting edge of science. I just find it interesting that YOU think people are embarrassed about it so you use it in a way that is disparaging. Edit: I clicked around for about 5 minutes on this page and didn't find one reference to that name. If the University doesn't refer to itself as that name, why would you? http://www.ndsu.edu/

Just want to make sure you stay consistent with your logic Dave, I mean Hayduke. So here's a few updates to UND's football schedule I thought you might want to be aware of. Valparaiso University...Valparaiso Male and Female College or Northern Indiana Normal School and Business Institute South Dakota State University...Dakota Agriculture College Montana State University...Agricultural College of the State of Montana Idaho State University...Academy of Idaho Eastern Washington University...Benjamin P. Cheney Academy Sacramento State University...Sacramento State College Portland State University...Vanport Extension Center Northern Arizona University...Northern Arizona Normal School University of Northern Colorado...Colorado State Normal School University of California, Davis...Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture Looks like a nice schedule for UND this year. For Valpo's sake tonight I hope they only bring the boys from their boys and girls school. Though maybe if they brought some girls, UND's players might get distracted and win by 60 instead of 70. Edit: Actually a pretty interesting page to peruse if you have a few minutes to waste. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_university_and_college_name_changes_in_the_United_States

I can't decide what's more embarrassing for you. You're inability to actually keep your posts from being personal attacks(the sign that you don't have anything intelligent to add) or the fact that you think you are actually refuting anything I'm saying.
-
If you'd like to refute any of the actual points I've addressed your posts might actually hold some merit.
-
Keep digging that hole man. It'll only make it that much more funny.
-
Your persistent lack of understanding on this topic only shows your own ignorance, not another school's delusions of grandeur. You can piss and moan all you want Duke, but the fact(to use the word you misuse daily) is FCS football is made up of Division I insitutions. Which is far more than one could say about your precious hockey.
-
I wonder if you'll man up and take your medicine by owning up to this statement if NDSU wins. Some UND fans, yourself included, sure are setting themselves up for a fall from grace aren't they?
-
If you want to say that, I don't have a problem with it at all. I believe it's arguable, but it would likely be a matter of opinion to make the argument either way. However, to have this discussion, it is paramount to point out that UND enjoys many advantages over NDSU in terms of recruiting in their respective sport. Not the least of which is geography. The best football talent in the country is spread out, yes, but in general the best talent is nowhere near Fargo, ND. In contrast, GF is in the heart of some of, if not the world's best talent in hockey in that age group. Much easier to get a guy to come to GF from Roseau, MN than it is to get a guy from Miami, FL to come to Fargo, ND. Not excuses, just pointing out the difference in recruiting between the two sports.
-
I agree. However, if nothing else NCAA hockey and Major Juniors in Canada are 1-A and 1-B in terms of having the best talent in the US and Canada playing in their programs. With Major Junior having a slight edge in most of the publications I have read on the subject. Point being, the talent is split between two places. So NCAA hockey isn't truly the epitome of talent for players in that age group is all I'm saying.
-
I think the same argument could be made about NCAA hockey vs. major junior hockey in Canada. Yes I realize you put a qualifier of being in the US in there.
-
I-AA/FCS has existed since 1978. In that time 21 different schools have won national championships. NCAA hockey has existed since 1948. In that time. 19 different schools have won the national championship. I'm not sure what this proves exactly. I suppose the argument could be made that the NCAA hockey championship is more difficult to win because there is only a few teams that have a chance to win it each year. I think the opposite argument could be made with the exact same set of numbers. It's much easier to win because there are only a few good teams in NCAA hockey. I know for sure that these numbers prove there is far more parity in FCS football than in NCAA hockey. Not sure how that applies to the original question though.
-
Oh the irony...
-
Please God let these next 4 weeks go quickly. I don't know if I can handle anymore of this meaningless offseason junk. It's the same crap every year.
-
We disagree, no big deal. NDSU football has reached a new plateau and it will take more than a year or two missing the playoffs to have attendance fall off in a significant way. Think Montana.
-
Oh that changes everything. 4 years ago, well that's completely relevant. 4 years ago, might as well be 100 in terms of college football.
-
Is this really what it has come to UND fans? Nitpicking about a losing season 11 years ago where NDSU had poor attendance? If you are going to look for weak points in the NDSU football armor, attendance is not a place I would begin as a UND fan. I honestly believe that NDSU football would continue to thrive moving forward in terms of attendance, even without the ultra success the team has enjoyed lately. The games and the tailgating have truly become an event and with the growing population in the FM area, more and more people are exposed to it every week in the fall. Sure if they have a few losing seasons in a row, they'll be down in term of attendance. But, down years wouldn't be nearly as far down as they used to be.
