He already stated its pointless to discuss the scholarship levels for this hypothetical situation, so it's by no means anywhere close to guaranteed the NCAA would do any changes to scholarship levels. But thanks for posting to make yourself seem like more of an idiot. Why can't the 60 or so schools schedule non conference games against each other with the one game against a lower level team? Most teams would have 1-2 games per year to schedule with fellow BCS schools so a two year home and home deal would be pretty easy. Or what about scheduling alliances? I'd say tier 3 is much more pointless than tier 2. That second tier would represent the lower FBS schools and the top FCS schools.

A much better example would be to compare similar situations. Since it is the state of North Dakota that is now making decisions that the NCAA disagrees with, let's find another state that has made decisions the NCAA disagrees with and has punished all schools in that state. Since I know Sic loves crushing softballs out of the park, I'll let him remind us all of South Carolina.

I'm thankful Huff is coming back. It was clear there were some issues and after some of his tweets, it's great to seeing him stick with the program. Usually there is an unofficial overall schedule early in the summer. The official release for some other colleges is late August usually.

Over til you decided to post partial details for no reason. Sure, you didn't call someone out but you intentionally intrigued enough people that at least one person is going to search for it. When it comes out, you can tout you had nothing to do with it, all the while knowing it likely never would have come to light without your intentionally generic post.

More importantly, is there anything in the US constitution that makes it illegal for a private organization to tell it's voluntary members what it can and can't itself?

It still doesn't give UND the written 30-year agreement from both the SL and SR tribes and that is what the agreement says the school needs to retain the nickname without sanctions.

Augh... the people voting against the nickname don't all feel it's hostile and abusive. Most posters here feel the name isn't, however if it comes down to keeping the nickname or handcuffing the althletic department, then the nickname needs to go. It's extremely unfortunate, but the nickname should never be more important than the athletes and programs it stands for.

While some people may disagree with the thread starter's motives, it's not a big secret that there are personality issues amongst this team and coaching staff. Winning helps keep a lot of that under wraps, but what happens if we don't win all those home games this year? What happens if the team doesn't get a big or two and gets dominated in the Big Sky? This will become much bigger news than it already is and unfortunately, it's almost an asterisk next to the team when talking about them.

FOX does have broadcasts of Big12 and Pac12 basketball and football, so it would give them the opportunity to spread out the number of games they show in those two sports for at minimum those two conferences. I was amazed this year that on MOST friday nights, I could watch any of 5 college hockey games at one time from across the country. A few years ago, that was something we could only dream about. Any additional sports network is great for college hockey, because it's just another outlet that will provide more exposure to both the casual fan and the die-hard who wants to see his/her favorite team more often.

Proven wrong about what? That it will affect UND athletics? It already has in scheduling, recruiting and the cost of purchasing new uniforms for teams.

Let's be the Apaches and have Boeing provide us with a helicopter with UND all over it.
