With the quick strike WRs we have our running game needs to be just above marginal. 3 yards here, 5 there... Just enough to keep the opposing front 7 honest. Miller is a quick strike, break a long one type of back. He isn't going to get you the dirty 3 or 4 an offense needs to keep things going on occasion.

Best case scenario: UND win coin flip and hits Hardin on a TD bomb in first series to go up 7-0. Worst case scenario: Griz win flip and pound it on the ground for a 7-8 minute drive to go up 7-0.

Yup. Penalties hurt...TOs kill. A repeat of both categories from last Saturday and I think this one won't be as close.

One of my best friends lives just outside Missoula and is a big Griz fan. He said this squad is nothing like last year's team. Much better in all 3 phases. Probably a "homer's" take but he did play college FB so I respect his opinion.

My guess is on a neutral field the line would be Griz 10 point favorite at a minimum so with the game at UND I'll say the spread will be Griz -7 give or take a point.

Agree...and if that was the #6 team in FCS?? QB...average. Defense...not as good as advertised. Zenner...best RB to hit Alerus possibly ever. He was flat out the difference by himself. I expect the Griz to be every bit as good as SDSU if not better this Saturday.

I see the Griz trying to get the early lead using balance on offense and then controlling the clock by pounding the ball with their 2 quality RBs. Slowing down their running attack is key for UND. I think UND will get points to stay close...at least for awhile.

Johnson is back at QB for Griz after a messy legal issue and will be a big upgrade offensively and getting a transfer RB from Marshall won't hurt them either. This Griz team will be better on both sides of the ball than last year. Last was an abberation for Montana. They are back IMO. For UND to stay close and have a chance to win: 1) Have to run the ball with some success. Miller isn't the answer for 60 minutes. 2) STOP THE RUN. I don't care what happened in the 2nd half vs. Jacks. 295 to one RB is pathetic. 3) Avoid the costly miscues...TOs and stupid penalties. Have to show some amount of discipline. UND showed stretches of very good play Saturday. Stretches this Saturday won't get it done vs. the Griz though.

College FB is different than the NFL is terms of having a plan for success IMO. In college you need to have a stout D especially vs the run, you have to run the ball with some decent success and you have to be disciplined in avoiding dumba** penalties and TOs. None of this has been part of the plan in Muss's tenure.
