  1. U could tell in handful of plays last week he has got "it"! Going be a beast.
  2. Hope Muss got on the D at half and can coach em up a lil bit this half to give us a shot.
  3. A team w UND's O and SU's D would be a lock for a BS or MVC title.
  4. If UND gets half the D NDSU plays weekly for the rest of the season I like their chances. UND's O is as good as they have had in many many years.
  5. Someone on D needs to channel his inner Eric Schmidt!
  6. Tough to argue w that assessment after what I've seen last 6 quarters.
  7. Pick 6 and a penalty on a punt to give em another TD. Can't do that vs Sioux Falks and expect to win.
  8. My Griz buddy asked me this am what I thought our chances were today. Said UND has to run the ball to keep time of possession close and stay in game. My gut says SDSU 31-23.
  9. Frenso got the ball back w 3 and change left in the game. Best case scenerio UND gets ball back at roughly same spot on field from where they punted with less than 2 minutes to go if they get a 3 and out w no TOs. At SOME point in your best cast scenerio UND still would have had to complete a pass or 2 of 10-15+ yard to eventually punch it in. Not saying ur point is wrong. Again I just think odds weren't any better in ur scenerio given we would have had to just throw anyways.
  10. And that's your opinion but reread your argument. I'll leave it at that. Many of us would have preferred to have taken a shot to win it as well.
  11. And that's why he did not have the stones to go for it. Easy way out...that's what coaches do as to not take heat to protect their jobs. They can all go back to the "percentages" said I need to do this. I get it and I don't blame him for making the "percentage" call. It was the right call based on the "numbers" and the right call in probably any other scenerio. Again, what did UND have to lose? Answer that please??? On the road vs. FBS team who was heavily favored to kick your a88 and you have the opportunity to get your 1st FBS win in this new era. We can agaree to disagree here. It wasn't a bad call, just not the right call IMO under the set of circumstances that presented. Arm chair QBing I know, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn before! In Muss we trust!!
  12. To answer your first question...in the last month of that 2006 season, yes. But at the time of the game vs. 'SU, thinking back probably not compared to NIU. I'll give you that. But Davis did play against NDSU and threw a TD.
  13. Exactly...and I don't think many would have had an issue with that...including his players!
  14. I'll take that under advisement, Mr. Corso! That year (2006) was when QB Nate Davis was a Fr. When he took over late in the year and they were pretty good to end the season winning 3 of their last 4 with that loss to then #2 Michigan by 8.
  15. I bet the SDSU coach, who's team is heavily favored to win this game Saturday, won't play the "percentages". I bet he goes for it on the4th down a couple of time when the percentages say he should punt. And his team has everything to lose.
  16. And UND never got the ball back. I get what you are saying and but again this was an opportunity against a FBS team...a team you are heavily favored to get beat by...badly. You play those percentages in a game in most circimstances...not that game. 4 and 15 was about the same percentage as punting and getting the ball back, which we didn't. Frenso, if you remember really started to stuff if down our throats running it late 3rd into the early 4th quarter. You punt in that situation if that scenerio presented last week vs. PSU. Against a FBS team...on the road, why not go for it? Just my opinion.
  17. That is exactly the point some, including me, are trying to make. Playing the "percentages" at that point needed to go out the window. "You play to win the game!"
  18. Oops...forgot them. Probably best of the 5 we have played so far. My bad.
  19. I would put them on par with Ball St. from 2006 at best. Not nearly as good as CMU from 2007. Not a college FB expert by any means, but I thought the MAC was generally down overall the year we played NIU. Point still remains we haven't beat a FBS team. That needs to change. The a88 whooping at Idaho was an embarrassment.
  20. IMO the only FBS team we have played that is better than those mentioned above to date was Fresno St. and Muss "played the percentages". IMO if Muss goes for it last year on 4th down late in that game, the locker room would be more apt to buy what he is selling in games like this Saturday because they know he would give them a shot to win if the opportunity presents itself like last year vs. Fresno. People, you can spin it however you want, but 'SU is now 6-3 (I believe) vs FBS teams. Name another FCS program in the last 9 years that has that record vs. FBS teams. Much less doing it during a D1 transition. You play who is on your schedule...period. I don't think the Idaho's and ISU's of the world are a notch about the teams you listed above.
  21. I listened to the Muss presser last night on our local Fox News. The tone in which he conducts a presser is night and day compared to Bohl. Bohl give you the sense that his team is good, he knows it and they know and they will have a great opportunity to win (each game). Muss sounded like it'll be nice to go to San Diego for a little vacation and used the word "fun"! My family uses that term when we head to Disney World.
  22. I'm sure Cableone will jump all over that to supply the game to the F-M area!
