So to recap on the possibility of using Roughriders for the new UND nickname: The good people of Grand Forks and anyone ever associated with RRHS need to give written consent that they approve with the potential duplication of the nickname...or that RRHS will adopt the new nickname "Little Roughriders". Also either the university or RRHS need to phyiscally move its location to fulfill the criteria as to be located more than 1.5 miles from each other but within 65 miles based on the geographic relationship between Kindred and Valley City. Did I miss anything?

If Poolman doesn't play mostly forward last season KT is most likely the odd D-man out most nights. IMO he has no business entertaining thoughts about going pro at this stage in his hockey career.

I'm with you. Looks really good. Some will argue it would look better without the ND but with a gay ax wielding lumberjack decal...or at least that logo would sell more T-shirts.

I'll disagree with you on Roughriders. Of the 64 left the two you mentoined above are the clear cut winners IMO and we should vote now!

If you are on the committee and you said "yes" to Fighting Greens, Blizzard Dogs, Artic Blaze, Green Pride or Wings (just to select a few) you should look at yourself in the mirror and realize this process isn't for you and step aside. To try and give any rational thought that any of these names could possibly be the new nickname at the university you were selected to represent is absurd.

But we are talking about our process...the process to get UND a new nickname and more importantly get it right. Pretty sure no one cares about a "list of current college nicknames" when in the end that won't have any bearing on how those associated with UND feel about what is ultimately decided...for UND. There are 64 names left..........give me 4 you consider tolerable that would be an improvement on just being "North Dakota" with the branding of the "ND".

Well said. In my last post I referenced 6 nicknames still in contention.......they suck as do a vast majority of the remaining 58. The "ND" logo on its own is far and away superior than 62 of the nicknames still in the running.

I'd take that bet any day. But reading your posts with your keen spin on marketing you probably think you could sell ISIS flags in Israel too. For the UND rebranding to be successful it will still ultimately come down to what those who support UND in anyway shape or form feel about the new logo. Not what some 16 year old thug in Baltimore thinks is cool. The "ND" is recognizable past, current and future with anyone associated with UND. That will not be said for some lame goofy Sundog, Pride or Spirit logo that is just around the corner. What kind of logo would you suggest for Nodaks, Big Green or Force? You really think any logo you could come up with for those 3 nicknames would out sell just the "ND"?

Big picture.........it has to be tough to be a coach in other sports at UND when you are at the bottom of the pay scale in your conference only to find out BF was in a bidding war for Hak's services. Now with that can we rekindle the "Fire Jones" thread???
