IMO the talent on the offensive side of the ball wasn't the main issue with this offense being "between bad and terrible". Schemes and play calling magnified our weaknesses offensively....it should have magnified the strengths. Can't coach, play call or scheme to what you don't do well yet that was the case most of the year. The roster is what you have to deal with. Have to coach to the strengths of the players you have. John and Brady, one could argue, were one of the best RB tandems in the FCS (throw in JJ too) and there was no scheming or play calling for good chunks of the season to utilize their strengths.

The D was way better than average. This year's offense didn't do them any favors...nor did the special teams.

The goal of any FCS FB program should be to play the regular season so that they can make the playoffs.......11-0, 8-3 or 6-5. Doesn't matter as long as you get in. Getting in starts a whole new season and gives everyone a new opportunity. Beating NDSU next year and missing the playoffs again isn't what most UND FB fans are looking for. Maybe the new coaching changes will unite the whole staff to go into next season with that mentality......coach to win every game. IMO that didn't happen this year.

IMO it should have been the last one vs NAU......that one should matter more to most UND FB fans but I could be way off base there too.

Tread lightly...........isn't like UND caught a break with this year's schedule and used it to their advantage. The schedule this season set UND up to be 8-3 this year.

Go back a few pages.......we've been through this. Be happy we punted, lost and missed the playoffs......that's the prevailing theme.

Regression is a losing record............at 5-6 Bubba's teams would be 14-19 from '17-'19 with no playoff appearances. I don't think random fans will make the ultimatum if that's the case.

The critical game will be SHSU...... don't want to head to EWU at 1-2 with the possibility of sitting at 1-3. 2-2 or 3-1 is ok after 4 games. Beating NDSU in Fargo will be difficult.

Here are the facts.......Bubba opted to punt. UND never got the ball back. Game lost. Playoffs gone. Obviously "the most realistic opportunity" didn't work out. So be it.

If those are the only 2 options available I'll go with B...new staff. That schedule is a meat grinder. Would have to go 5-1 at home to have a playoff shot if schedule stays at 11 games.
