19 weeks is a long time. 240 is alarming but still a lot less than 400.
-
The statistics are accurate. My verbage was not. My wording should been better as to say confirmed cases.....you are definitely correct there. As of yesterday morning 2.87% of those tested in ND were confirmed positive. Probably slightly higher today with new cases.
-
That's very alarming.....and I completely agree. For some perspective though if I may........worldwide as of this morning it has been 19 weeks since first confirmed case in China. The world is average 240 deaths per week over that time frame and that is with a death rate of 4.7%. That 240 is about 170 less deaths per week (estimated) than the flu season in this country. Also the current death rate in the US is 1.8% which is still high. 10 weeks since confirmed outbreak in US...... average weekly deaths is currently at 32. See above.........SD has one death. Go ahead and call them for an explanation

0.008% of SD residents have been infected. 0.27% of NY state residents have been infected. Most populated state CA has 0.014% infectious rate.

One thing not being mentioned is the severe loss in revenue to the healthcare systems in this country. Most systems will lose roughly a third or more of their revenue during the fight against COVID due to most outpatient visits are most non-existent. No elective or non-essential procedures are being done. If a multi-billon dollar system which operates on a small margin of +/- 3% loses that much revenue it becomes a challenge moving forward. Maybe yzerman and/or UND...MICH can speak more to this.

So you're saying clubs stay in storage and just keep snowblower out and ready for next October?
-
Interesting........I have heard a number of people with similar symptoms from late November to early January. Main symptoms........fatigue and cough. Most of those got influenza testing that was of course negative
-
Symptoms? My brother who travels abroad quite a bit for his job thinks he had it in early December.

He's your quintessential Never Trumper. He's got a huge poster of Alyssa Milano stapled to his ceiling above his bed.

Not yet. My guess.......2 weeks.

Hospitalizations are around 550K so far this flu season
-
A number of days this flu season. CDC estimated deaths this season is 24-62K. Median total is 43K. Flu season is 13-15 weeks.15 is 105 days. 43K divided by 105 is......on average 409 per day. It happens often.

Should have stated 83 positives out of 2892 tested so far in ND
-
For the week ending 3/21 there were 446 influenza cases reported in ND for that 7 day period. For the season thru 3/21 reported flu cases in ND are almost double from last season. 12285/6769.

Looks like the rollerblade street hockey game is about to start if anyone is interested......
-
Neighborhood street rollerblade hockey game was up to 13 kids last evening as I walked by. Some parents sitting on dropped tailgates in driveways watching and tipping a couple back. Car traffic was significantly up yesterday with people on the go. Sidewalks/walking paths were packed with runners, bikers and walkers last evening. Weather was beautiful.....50 sun with light winds. Going to be harder for people to sit in their homes after going through winter which started before Halloween. Good news Red to crest next week around 30'. Tough to toss sandbags 6' apart. The sample size is small because those are the actual numbers. ND is 49th in cases. Just above SD.

Is the guy in the middle Jussie Smollett?

Will do. Just thought I'd make it a quick easy read for the low IQ crowd here....of which there are many.
