I think we wanted them all, just different situations. Rizzo left us high & dry, he was fully expected to come in. Morrow has the crazy dad. Halliday flipped to OSU for whatever reason. And Miller was on the team with full support from Berry before the UND prez pulled the plug on that.

Yeah, crazy to think the number of high skilled players that could have come to UND recently though. Rizzo, Morrow, Halliday, even Miller. They all would have been on UND teams last year and this year.

UMass can't buy a call from these refs.

Matvick has called quite a few UND regionals. Probably the most memorable was the UND/Minn game when Porter scored the wraparound goal in OT.

Really going into hypothetical situations here. But for sure. Hakstol had some of the best NCAA tourney success in college hockey history, not just among UND coaches. He just couldn't win that last game. The number of F4 he went to in his tenure is absurd.

Dang first goal of the season. Hoping Pehrson can do that against his old team tomorrow too.

I'd rather see UMass win, NCHC-pride be damned. Hate DU more. That said, DU looks like the better team. UMass needs to generate a bit more if they're gonna make DU nervous.

I feel like the doomsday scenario changes depending on the coach though. There were yearly threads calling for replacing Hakstol on here. There are yearly threads calling for replacing Berry on here. With Hakstol, everyone claimed he couldn't get the team over the last hump, despite leading them to countless F4. With Berry, everyone claims he can't get the team motivated to make a run in the NCAA tourney...and his first title was Hakstol's team. In truth, any coach is going to face a tough crowd here on ss.com, unless they win a title every 2-3 years.

That must have been such a cool moment. Cool to hear that Bubbs was there for that. A different path when compared to the 'screaming and throwing chairs' crowd, but you can tell that Bubbs really cares for these kids and vice versa.
