A couple UND commits made the top 50 list:
  2. New bracketology from USCHO: https://www.uscho.com/2024/02/14/bracketology-this-week-presents-less-of-a-headache-in-springfield-regional-but-umass-as-host-still-requires-some-effort-when-bracketing/ Not quite as much mayhem as last week since Maine dropped to a #2 seed and UMass moved up to a #3. Some very intriguing 1st round matchups here. Providence, R.I. 1. Boston College 8. Minnesota 9. Quinnipiac 16. Bemidji State Springfield, Mass. 3. Boston University 7. Denver 10. Massachusetts 14. Cornell Sioux Falls, S.D. 2. North Dakota 6. Maine 11. Western Michigan 15. RIT Maryland Heights, Mo. 4. Wisconsin 5. Michigan State 12. Providence 13. St. Cloud State
  3. CCM vs CBS We all know how that turned out.
  4. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/will-the-ncaa-open-its-doors-to-chl-players Major Junior players to NCAA?
  5. Two quick goals in under a minute. 2-2 halfway thru the 2nd
  6. BU and Northeastern tied 1-1 BU outshooting them 19-5.
  7. BU up 1-0 after one over Northeastern. Just a horrible giveaway right in front of the net by NU.
  8. Comments - Swanson is USHL FoTW after his crazy 7pt game. Updated stats thru 2/11: USHL (Forwards) Croal (Muskegon) - '03: 38gp - 16g/21a Panzer (Sioux Falls) - '04: 44gp - 14g/13a Slipec (Chicago) - '05: 32gp - 1g/6a Klee (Muskegon) - '05: 42gp - 12g/14a Swanson (Fargo) - '06: 35gp - 16g/33a Boisvert (Muskegon) - '06: 41gp - 27g/18a O'Neill (NTDP U17) - '07: 39gp - 5g/7a USHL (Defenseman) Jubenvill (Dubuque) - '03: 40gp - 7g/8a Strathmann (Youngstown) - '05: 29gp - 5g/18a Emery (NTDP U18) - '06: 41gp - 0g/10a Laurila (NTDP U18) - '06: 41gp - 2g/5a Lindberg (NTDP U17) - '07: 39gp - 1g/5a USHL (Goalies) Heil (Sioux Falls) - '06: 18gp - .854/4.22 (6-9-1) Other Pilgrim - MN HS - '06: 23gp - 25g/26a Zellers - SSM - '06: 43gp - 41g/43a Schultz - MN HS - '06: 23gp - 19g/27a Littler - BCHL - '04: 20gp - 8g/11a Simpson - MN HS - '07: 23gp - 26g/25a McInnis (AJHL/BCHL) - '06: 10gp - 3g/3a
  9. This is gonna be a tough test for UND. UND needs to get at least one win to maintain some sort of gap on SCSU in the NCHC, but UND couldn't even get that at home against this same CC team. I'm optimistic for a split...hopeful for more if UND plays well. Also...if either of these games go to OT (), keep the puck away from Laba, please.
  10. Living in AZ, a bunch of the guys on my beer league team think that ASU is amazing this year and should be in the tourney. They just don't seem to understand that a bunch of wins against Stonehill and Lindenwood (some of those in OT!) are enough to get them into the tourney. Next season we'll see what ASU is capable of when they have to regularly play UND, DU, SCSU, WMU, etc instead of their current cupcake schedule. Playing a good team almost every weekend is a bit different than playing a good team once a month or so, and almost always at home.
  11. Darn it Miami, can't do anything right, can you?
  12. I don't think Miami is gonna help us out at all this weekend. Stonehill with their first win of the season, 4-2 over Lindenwood. They're now 1-28 on the year.
  13. Nevermind, stats page was updated. Now shows that Swanson finished the night with a 3-4-7 line. Dang, heck of a game. That's 10 pts in his last 2 games.
  14. His Elite Prospects page still lists UND...not sure, I've seen both EP and the USHL pages be incorrect before. His Sioux Falls Stampede team page bio still shows UND: https://sfstampede.com/sports/mhockey/roster/caleb-heil/822
  15. He finished with that 3-3-6 line. Heck of a game for him in a 11-4 Force win over the Stampede. Unfortunately, his future UND teammate, Caleb Heil, was in net for 7 of those Force goals (ouch, 10 saves - 7 goals allowed). Panzer also scored a goal for the Stampede in the losing effort.
  16. They've been a bubble team all year. I really hope they fall a couple more spots...the last few bracket predictions have them in UND's bracket. Don't want that at all.
  17. Miami looks terrible. 2-0 SCSU over Miami 2-0 WMU over UNO
  18. Cheering for Miami and UConn tonight. Crap, SCSU scores
  19. That's more the Hellsten we remember from last year. UNH down 3-0 to BC in the first 5min of the game. Hellsten has allowed 3 goals on 7 shots.
  20. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-using-bye-week-to-regain-health Albrecht returned to practice this week, so is looking good for return against CC. Johannes hasn't returned to practice yet.
  21. I still think UMass slips out of the PWR bubble anyway. They have a tough six games remaining against BC, UNH, and Maine, and they haven't been very consistent lately. That would make this whole argument about not being able to put one of the #1 seed HEA schools in the Mass regional a moot point.
  22. Latest USCHO Bracketology addresses the issue with having UMass hosting and also currently having 3 HEA #1 seeds: https://www.uscho.com/2024/02/07/bracketology-three-hockey-east-no-1-seeds-umass-falling-to-a-no-4-seed-complicate-this-weeks-pairings-beyond-belief/ Providence, R.I. 1. Boston College 8. Denver 9. Minnesota 16. Minnesota State Maryland Heights, Mo. 4. Maine 7. Michigan State 10. Providence 15. RIT Sioux Falls, S.D. 3. North Dakota 6. Quinnipiac 12. Michigan 14. Cornell Springfield, Mass. 2. Boston University 5. Wisconsin 11. Western Michigan 13, Massachusetts Even though BU and UMass are both in HEA, they could play each other in 1st round since they are five HEA teams currently in the field: This is a tough bracket for sure. Two very good teams in MO and Mass, and three very good teams in RI and SD. That SD regional would definitely be more challenging than the last Bracketology. If UND got past Cornell, they'd be rewarded with a regional final of either QU or Mich. Ouch.
  23. UND falls to #3 in the PWR with the BU win over BC in the Beanpot. The RPI is so close with those top three teams (BC - .6171, BU - .6108, UND - .6102). #4 PWR Maine RPI goes down to .5962
  24. One man Celebrini show.
  25. Happy to do them! It's interesting to see some of them progress as the season goes along. I'm really interested to see how the current HS forward group does next year in juniors...as all four of them (Pilgrim, Zellers, Schultz, and Simpson) are averaging over 2 pts/gm against HS competition. Could be a very dynamic group incoming in the next couple years.
