Interesting stat on new goalie TJ:
QuoteAnother interesting stat about Semptimphelter: He's never been scored upon in a shootout during his college career. Semptimphelter is 13-for-13 in stopping opponent attempts.
All four shootouts came this season. He blanked Colorado College (3-for-3), Dartmouth (3-for-3), Cornell (3-for-3) and Lindenwood (4-for-4).
@Oxbow6 will be happy with that, as I know he loves the shootouts.

An anonymous source with knowledge of the situation has told me that Pohlkamp will be on campus today and Wilkie will be on campus tomorrow. The source also says we were late to the party on Wood but there is mutual interest from both sides. So I guess we are still in the running for these players.
Good that we're in the running on a couple of them...visiting the school is a good sign. Time for Berry and Co to wow them on their visits.

Dang. Potulny is gonna have his work cut out for him this offseason:

I’m guessing how quickly he committed. Tampering.
If that’s the case, then I hope they’re mad at all the many programs that already have committed portal players too.

Omaha fans really vocal about Semptimphelter going to UND
What for?
Not that their fanbase needs a reason to complain about UND. -
I say we just call him Helter Skelter.

100% Didn’t this guy lose his job at ASU? Hobie starts this guy works for PT
Yeah, he got injured:
QuoteSemptimphelter went 16-5-4 with a 2.52 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 2023-24.
He suffered a hip injury in the second half of the season and ceded starts to 6-foot-5 rookie Gibson Homer. Semptimphelter was able to return for two starts late in the season.

I was thinking we'd run with 9 D then. Everyone still comes in.
Or, if Komzak or Benoit portal out, he'd take their spot.7 minutes ago, siouxforce19 said:It’s not like he’s the first player we’ve gotten that’s on his third team.
For sure. Johannes comes immediately to mind.

Projection based on current info:
Forward (15):
GR - Jamernik
SR - Berg, Kunz, Schmaltz, Montgomery
JR - Blake, McLaughlin, James, Strinden
SO - Perron
FR - Swanson, Boisvert, Croal, Littler
X - PortalDefense (9):
JR - Zmolek
SO - Livanavage, Wiebe, Benoit, Komzak
FR - Jubenvill, Strathmann, Emery
X - PortalGoalie (3):
SR - Semptimphelter
JR - Johnson
SO - Hedquist
QuoteAlthough UND is bringing in a transfer goaltender for the fourth-straight season, the Fighting Hawks will likely pencil in a lot more action for Hedquist, who was solid in limited action during his rookie season.
Hedquist went 5-1 with a .905 save percentage as a freshman.
UND's lone goaltender recruit, Caleb Heil, is only a junior in high school and cannot come to college yet. He will play his senior year in junior hockey, then UND will assess his readiness for college ahead of the 2025-26 season.
With Semptimphelter being a one-year player, Heil could have the option of coming in 2025.

Spittin' Chiclets for the win!
Hope it works on some other recruits and portal guys too.

There better be a rotation at start. Give Hobie his fair shake.
Agreed. More of a rotation would be nice, especially to start.

Which school will be the first to have a General Manager position?
I can imagine that all the assistant coaches are monitoring it pretty non-stop during these first few weeks...talking to players, agents, arranging visits, etc.
Definitely a whole new aspect of the job since the portal era started. -
Yeah, the Mavs have a lot to replace for next year. They're gonna look quite different this fall.
-
Cooper Moore returning for a 5th year at QU.
-
ASU returning a good group of 5th year forwards:
QuoteArizona State announces leading scorer Lukas Sillinger (11-37--48), F Ty Jackson (6-12--18), F Dylan Jackson (7-4--11) and F Benji Eckerle (5-15--20) will play their fifth seasons for the Sun Devils, who are joining the NCHC.

Not official…but he’s going to DU
Hopefully that might be an indication that Buium/Buium/Behrens would be departing this offseason.
-
Wood / Wilkie / Pohlkamp
Sounds like we are in the running for all three. But I'd be happy if we are able to land one of that group.
Each would fill a need for the 24/25 team.No word on any UND players entering the portal or early departures as of yet...figure if that happens, we'll start to hear some rumblings soon.
-
Man, how many drafted UW players can enter the portal this off-season?
Not a good look for UW or Hastings. So for Wood, it's between us and a pile of B10 schools? Not liking those odds...

I text my guy within the program that I heard it's UND.
He replied that my source is wrong.
I text and asked if it was DU.
He replied with the zipper mouth emoji.
That's a damn shame.
Wood to UMN and Pohlkamp to DU would be great pickups for both. -

Could still pull a Cooley, the fans wanted him gone.
His production nosedived without Knies and Cooley.
Still has a hell of a one-timer, but seems to lack initiative to get back when he doesn't have the puck. -
Sounds like it's official:
QuoteRiese Gaber, who finished with more career points at UND than anyone in the last decade, has agreed to terms with the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League on a two-year, one-way deal, according to a source.
Charlotte is the top minor-league affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers.
Gaber's contract will start next season.
QuoteGaber sustained an injury in UND's NCAA regional semifinal game against Michigan last weekend.

There's no way he doesn't have a better personality than Carle if we're battling against DU for Pohlkamp.
