Ssshhh, you do know that many current WCHA coaches lurk this message board looking for coaching insight from redwing77.
The last thing we want is for those coaches to find out the Hakstol secrets as well!
Even if that were the case, you would think only the freshmen players would be affected by the "early season issues" since all the other players would have gotten used to it in previous seasons.
Whatever it is, it's certainly nice to see this group of players come together after a rough first half (I think I've said that same thing the previous four years as well).
Now hopefully this team can just win a couple more games at the end of the year...
I don't know either way on that one. This article talks about it being a WCHA record, but it might be a NCAA record. Anyone know for sure?
Meanwhile, Duncan is at:
Fr - 46 gp
So - 43 gp
Jr - 43 gp
Sr - 36 gp (so far)
168 gp total for him so far
Assuming no injuries, the regular season will have him at 170 gp. Then let's say a 2-game WCHA 1st round playoff (could be 3 games) and 2 games at the F5 (if they make it). That's 174 or 175 gp right there. He can certainly break Porter's record if the Sioux win a game or two in the NCAA tourney...
Bruneteau, Cichy, and Kristo are coming for sure.
If Forney decides to return, add him to that list.
That leaves one open spot, and Knight, Rowney, or Mattson to fill it. I think it would be between Knight and Mattson.
