I would really like to see us replace BC as the top #1 seed, and keep us away from Worcester.
That would essentially be a home regional for them. We've beaten them (and BU) before in Mass, but if we can face them in a different location, that might be better.
Also, the INCH 4x4 shows a potential UW-Cornell regional final rematch from a few years ago.
Maybe another snore-fest on the horizon?
You picked a good year to go.
Some of the fairweather Gopher fans that attend aren't that best.
IMO the Gopher fans attending this year will be much better...a non-Gopher F5 keeps out the riff-raff.
You'll love the tourney though, it's one of the things I look forward to all year.
Hope to run into some posters while there!
Good, I like it that way.
That means that opposing teams find it hard to play against the Sioux team and that the fans are into the games and make it an atmosphere that is tough to play in.
Let's keep it that way.
Yeah, this is a huge game for Duluth...they will be desperate and playing for their season.
I wonder if the Sioux will be able to match their intensity?
Gopher fans like to think that their NIAA co-title in 1929 (shared with Yale) and their 1940 AUU title somehow count toward their NCAA total for championships.
It's looking like an actual possibility...UND up to #5. Yowzers, wouldn't have expected that a month ago.
Also, when was the last time that BU, Mich, and UMN are likely to not make the NCAA's, all in the same year? That's crazy.
Speaking of...it looks like UMD will beat UAA tonight, which means that UAA/MSUM will finish tied for 8th in the league.
MSUM wins the tiebreaker (3-1 H2H record over UAA), so that means MSUM @ SCSU for the 1st round.
That's a series with a potential upset...
The Sioux have carried play in all four games against UMN this season (even the 5-1 drubbing in MN).
In the series at Mariucci, we were without both Hextall and Knight due to injury, so having both of them back for this series will be a big added boost.
Sweeney said it was good to see Chay back on the ice for the stick salute.
Hakstol said that Chay will be back on the ice...either later this year or next year. Not sure what we should read from that.
