Next week he'll be out for the season.

Or the Gopher fans still on here arguing all the details from last weekend. Don't you guys have an important WCHA series coming up?

Their site doesn't show him as playing a game with them since mid-Dec, although I believe he is currently overseas for an intl tourney.

Exactly. I was going to post the same thing. Who knows with the WCHA mgmt. And Wilbur, it's ok to still say SIOUX.
-
If there is, I will surely "Rau" you. And it will look pretty similiar, since I believe our height difference is pretty close to that of Blood/Rau. I might be game to skate again. Only problem is I live in AZ now, so I'll only be attending the F5 if the Sioux make it. Also, how much does an airline charge for transporting smelly hockey equipment??
-
UND up to #20 in the PWR. Still a good chunk of ground to make up if they want to make the NCAA's without winning the F5 tourney. Crazy, but if the season ended today, only 2 WCHA teams would be in the tourney with DU and CC on the edge.
-
Sounds like Mike Lee is close to being healthy again. So we may see him. Although it might not matter...that Faragher kid shut us down for one of the games during the REA series earlier this year.
-
Might as well start this thread since the UMN threads were getting tiresome. Very important points on the line for UND this weekend if they want to continue to make up ground in both the WCHA and the PWR standings/rankings. Hopefully we hear some good news later this week on the injury front. O'Donnell, Forbort, Grimaldi, etc. IMO, at least 3 points are needed this weekend.
-
Tough game yesterday for the Sioux vs UW, but nice to get some points today with a tie + shootout win. Nice job ladies!
-
Might as well go on over to GPL and support your new team over there then. I don't know if I've ever seen a "non-negative" post from you. If Hakstol were to bring a national title to this team...instead of being happy about it, you would say "Blais would have won one sooner".
-
I think that is great news. Bringing in a player that already has college experience...add in the fact that he has proven to be a great scorer while playing with his brother in juniors...win-win for UND in my book. Plus, that will help offset the Matteau departure from our recruiting class.
-
Ouch. All of UND's players are getting injured...all of SCSU's players are just leaving the team. Should make for an interesting matchup in two weeks. Maybe both teams can agree on playing 4x4 all game? But, unfortunately, shows his lack of character at the same time. Bolting on your teammates halfway through the season says it all.
-
Wow, that must have been quite the craziness...
-
I just watched the Notre Dame/UMN game...you guys were certainly right about Patterson and his glove side weakness. On two of the goals, he doesn't even move his glove hand until after the puck is by him. Hopefully the Sioux can take advantage. That said, unless we can get at least Forbort and Knight back (and playing well...not 60%), I'm not sure we'll have enough gas to last 120 minutes. It's crazy to think of the lineup that we could be fielding if not for all these darn injuries.
-
Miller probably thinks he made the right decision, but he'd probably be a stronger player once the NHL comes calling for him if he was playing college hockey. How tough is it for him to be beating up on young players in the CHL? If he were playing against older players in the WCHA, he certainly wouldn't have as many points, but in the long run he'd be a better all-around player for it.
-
Minnesota education, perhaps? 330 more is right around 700. Give or take a few.
-
UMD 4, WMU 1 UW 6, RIT 3 St Lawrence 4, MSUM 3 Cornell 3, CC 1 I watched both the UMD and UW games. UMD looked good, although that game was close until the end when UMD got a 5x3 PP. UW didn't look that good IMO, but still put away RIT. The RIT goalie let a couple softies in. CC lost to Cornell despite outshooting them almost 2 to 1. And then the shocker... UAH 3, DU 2 Huntsville gets only its 2nd win all season (both over WCHA schools) in Denver. Future UND goalie Clarke Saunders makes over 40 saves in the win.
-
Grimaldi. He was so highly regarded coming in...and he has, what, 2 points all season?
-
He's not eligible until the fall.
-
Ouch. The Sioux are going to have to start scanning the intramural leagues for talent if this continues.

Players announced for the USHL Prospects Game: http://www.ushl.com/news.php?news_id=586 UND recruits Jordan Schmaltz and Luke Johnson are playing.
-
Maybe UND was in the running for him prior to his commitment to SCSU, but SCSU made him a better offer. Not sure, just maybe a thought.

Weird, I didn't see the Czech goalie showboating after the game tonight... I'd never cheer for the Russians (unless they're playing Canada), but I wasn't sad to see the Czechs knocked off.
