3-1-1 through the first 5 all while playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation? 1-1-1 against two top 5 teams (and some of the best teams that they'll face all year). Yes, it's disappointing being that they could have won all three of those games. And coincidentally, the loss and tie were when the team was without Sanderson and Kleven. This team will be good. And continue to only get better. The NCHC league title might be hard with how much easier of a path UMD has with their post-pod schedule, but I wouldn't count this team out for NCHC playoff or NCAA playoff runs.

As I said yesterday, I don't see a way that UMD doesn't win the NCHC title if they leave the pod with the lead. Their remaining schedule after the pod is way easier.

UMD plays Miami and WMU a combined 10 times after the pod is over. I really have a hard time believing that they'd lose any of those games...at most one or two. WMU is horrible and UMD plays them six times after the pod. I'd say with how the pod divisions are split up, I have a hard time seeing a way that UMD doesn't win the league. UMD's only tough matchups will be with SCSU. Meanwhile, UND and DU will slug it out after the pod and are paired with Omaha and CC...both tougher opponents than WMU.

SOG in that period were 8-1 at one point in favor of DU and ended 14-12 in favor of UND. They definitely turned it around a bit in the 2nd half of the 2nd.

SCSU and UMD both win today to remain undefeated after 3 games. 2 big games coming up for UND with DU on Tuesday and UMD on Thursday.

It was probably a little late since all that went down after school had already started. Our remaining current 6 d-men are still a very strong group...but that's assuming no injuries during the pod or first series after the pod.
