  1. Berry won the Spencer Penrose for Coach of the Year. Congrats to him! He actually tied with Schafer from Cornell.
  2. The phantom assists!
  3. It used to be on YT like a month ago and now all I can find is the highlights. With crappy music playing in the background.
  4. What is wrong with you? Why would you want to watch those games that ended in such heartbreak? I'd rather forget them. While you're at it, maybe we should also rewatch the 2008 "lacrosse" UNH game that ended in OT...or maybe the 2007 butt kicking at the hands of BC in the Denver F4...maybe the 2003 1-0 loss to Denver. The thread title is "Best Sioux Memories"...you must be one twisted fan if those are some of your best memories.
  5. So we're only losing JT early from this year's team?
  6. UMD junior forward Justin Richards has signed.
  7. That'd be kind of a slap in the face to Berry and Co after they signed the waiver to release him from the sitting period. "Hey coach, thanks for signing that...let me go and play next year for one of your big league rivals." Best of luck to him in the future, but that wouldn't sit right if he just ends up at another NCHC school next season.
  8. Only thing I can think of is that if the coaching staff already knows that one or both of JBD and Kierstad are coming back and JT knows as well. Then with Sanderson and Kleven coming in too, he doesn't want to get put in the same situation of sitting again next season.
  9. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5026392-UND-defenseman-Jonny-Tychonick-to-hit-the-transfer-portal Tough blow, especially if both JBD and Kierstad are depart. I wonder if more was going on behind the scenes here...he always seemed to play so well and then get sat.
  10. Cool to see the note in the article that mentioned that Adams and Mismash were two of Jordan's first phone calls after he decided. Would love to see the three of them come back for another go.
  11. Sounds like a great pickup...hopefully his scoring can translate to the college level quickly. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5010150-UND-incoming-freshman-Riese-Gaber-wins-USHL-goal-scoring-title
  12. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/5024100-After-consulting-with-Drake-Caggiula-UND-standout-Jordan-Kawaguchi-opts-to-return-for-senior-season
  13. Gooch is returning for his senior season! Huge news! Bring home the Hobey and National Title in 20/21!
  14. Two CC players in the transfer portal: Sam Renlund and Bailey Conger. Conger has already transferred once...going from Providence to CC for a year at each. Maybe he can become the first NCAA hockey player to play for 4 teams, just play one season a piece at each school!
  15. In the CHN simulation, UND gets past UMass to reach the F4: https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/03/28_NCAA-Tournament-Weatherby.php
  16. That’s gonna be a blowout. No way that #1 UMN loses that one.
  17. Maybe put it in the Fire Berry thread? Gooch also won Forward of the Year, Smith got robbed on Defensive Forward of the Year, Poolman won Defensive Dman of the Year, and Pinto won Rookie of the Year.
  18. Perunovich from UMD has signed.
  19. Nice who are WMU and CC bringing in to be at #2 and #5?
  20. WMU's soph dman Samuelsson signed with the Sabres. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/03/25_WMUs-Samuelsson-Turns-Pro.php
  21. Cornell played a grand total of 3 games all season against teams that made the NCAA tourney, and never on back to back nights. Michigan turned it on in the 2nd half, and were 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. They played 12 games during the season against teams in the NCAA tourney. IMO, Cornell was the definition of a team not battle tested against quality opponents. Any team they faced in the NCAA would have been one of the best, if not the best, team that they'd faced all season. That doesn't bode well for them rattling off multiple wins. I'd take Michigan in that 1st round matchup.
  22. My guess is that Michigan would have gotten past Cornell in the first round.
