I have a feeling this commit took Brad by surprise. It seems like with most commits, he has a bit of inside knowledge, as he has an article with quotes within a few hours of the commitment. This one...so far nothing other than a screenshot of Ashton's social media post.
Schloss was talking about this on his latest podcast. I forgot what exactly he said, something about how it's more difficult to get the info on the applicants now or he is unable to...one of those.
He gives a little background into each, but here are the names on his list:
James Hagens
LJ Mooney
Logan Hensler
Zachary Morin
Sascha Boumedienne
Sam Laurila
Garrett Lindberg
Cullen Potter
Cole McKinney (UM)
William Moore
Lukas Sawchyn
Charlie Trethewey
Andrew O'Neill (UND)
Caleb Heil
Masun Fleece
Drew Schock
Jake Stuart
Jacob Rombach
Cooper Simpson
Carter Murphy
Of the 20 big recruit names on the Schloss list that were eligible to commit on 8/1, only two have committed thus far.
O'Neill to UND and McKinney to Michigan.

I wondered that as well when I saw that news.
Pretty late in the season for sure, but anything is possible if the Flyers want him in their system right away.
Talk about an uneventful first day! Dang.
Let's hope a few more top prospects stop in for visits and the staff can get them onboard.
The trio of Laurila, Lindberg, and Mooney that @stoneySIOUX mentioned that have already visited...those three would be a good place to start on committing.

Big day tomorrow!
The Rink Live has a commitment board that will list all the Aug 1st commitments as they come in:

Haha!
Yes, that one and the one where he laid out the CC (?) player when they were both flying down the ice to beat out the icing. I remember those two the most.
I'd guess Gaber, Blake, Perron, and James.
Although that's a really tough matchup since Gaber doesn't have the hands of Hrkac and I don't think Perron is gonna lay anyone out like Oshie could.
