  1. So we agree that if Liv and Wiebe are able to play that weekend (which they will, unless injured) and UND sweeps Mercyhurst, that it was a win/win all-around? UND players gain a valuable experience, and UND sweeps against a team they should sweep.
  2. Best Matvick call of a Sioux game that I recall:
  3. BC opted in to the House agreement so couldn't be them, as they are stuck with their existing 26 players.
  4. Sounds like Hockey East school possibly? Can't be BC, because they opted in to the House agreement so are locked into their existing 26 players. BU didn't opt-in though so could be them. Although probably the last thing BU needs is to get even younger this year....
  5. I would guess that Liv and Wiebe both play Fri but just with more limited minutes. The coaching staff is viewing this the same as the WJC tourney, in that the players gain experience and get the school some exposure...and hopefully come back fired up and with more confidence for the 2nd half. I would rather be a little shorthanded during WJC/SC than the approach that the MSU coach is taking and not allowing players to participate in a cool holiday tourney like the Spengler Cup. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these players. Plus, you know guys like Strathmann, Jubenvill, Laurila, and Engel will be very excited to show us something with their expanded minutes. And Zmolek keeping it all together.
  6. From the US and Canada roster projections that I've been seeing, I think a good chunk of our players might be bypassed. I think only Verhoeff and Emery would be considered locks. Despite their strong starts, I haven't seen many projections that considered any of our forwards. Agreed that the boys shouldn't have trouble with Mercyhurst anyway, but hopefully Liv and Wiebe make it back in time and can log some minutes, even if they reduce them a bit.
  7. Congrats to him, will be quite the opportunity! We might be just a BIT short handed against Mercyhurst. I wonder if Liver and Wiebe will be able to play being that they would be flying home earlier that day? We'll see how the WJC teams for US and Canada shape up, but you have to figure at least Verhoeff and Emery are locks for their teams. Hopefully Strathmann and Jubenvill have their skates sharpened...they're gonna get lots of playing time against Mercyhurst.
  8. Wiebe joins Liver on the team as well.
  9. If that's the case, don't join the Sun Devil Hockey FB group. Watching all the ASU fans flip a lid last season when they didn't understand how PWR worked was a sight to behold.

  12. Sacha has 9pts (mainly due to a 4a effort last game), but is still a -2 in +/-.
  13. No worries, I enjoy tracking their stats as the season progresses! Def agreed. I mentioned it on the last stats update that he was sure starting slow for a guy supposedly coming to UND next fall. He just got traded from Waterloo to SF, so hopefully the change of location gets him more opportunities to flourish and get confidence before next season.
  14. 16. Big home series this weekend. ASU has looked a little porous defensively, so hopefully UND can take advantage. They still have some talented forwards with Potter, Lucius, and their ex-pro Beck who seemed to be in on all of their goals against CC. Keep the streak rolling, UND!
  17. UND in 1st place in the league. WMU in last place in the league. Just like we all predicted after 4 games.
  18. Congrats to both Menghini and Kernan, both scoring their 1st goals at UND. Reschny with a nice game of 1g/2a. Homer played his best game in awhile...he still moves around a bit more than we'd like to see, but he did make some big saves at key times. I still think Spoons looks calmer in net, but I'm fine with a rotation if they both keep winning.
  19. Not easy to do in this conference. GREAT weekend for the boys in green/black.
  20. UNO tried that last night and ended up taking like 7 penalties.
  21. Dang, DU going for the sweep of WMU at Lawson, that's impressive.
  22. Congrats on your first goal at UND!
  23. Hampton 2 goals allowed on 4 shots.
