There was a Ryan Jones that played for Miami who was pretty darn good, any relation there? And speaking of Jones', Matt and Zach have a little bro who is probably still a ways off from the college level age-wise, but just something to think about in the future.

Nice work siouxnami, but I think you're asking a lot to have Forbort here beyond his sophomore year. I know typically that UND defensemen with NHL potential have stayed through their junior year (Greene, Smaby, Finley, Chorney, etc.), but Forbort has already proven he is ready for college, and by the end of his sophomore year, he may be ready for that next step. I think Simpson is destined to be AT LEAST a 3 year player, but who knows with that either. What if he hits his stride and by the end of next year is one of our top 2 or 3 defensemen? There's a lot of unknowns and unpredictability with the future. The sad part is if some of these kids grew up wanting to be Fighting Sioux, and will never get the opportunity.

You can't rush a kid's decision. Whatever route he chooses, I'm sure he'll be fully committed to that route. There are benefits in going to both UND and Minnesota (yeah, I said it), even though from our point of view there is no better place than UND. What's going through his head is something like this: "UND is a great hockey school that has the potential to make me a better hockey player than anywhere else, but it's a bit farther from home. However, Minnesota is closer to home, and I'd likely get a bit more NHL exposure with an NHL team in my backyard, despite the recent failures of the program."

3 more days...DROP THE PUCK I hate Denver more than anyone, even the Gophers. If Gwoz and the Pioneers were a Minnesota team for the past 5-10 years, you'd hate that team twice as much as the actual Gopher team over the same time span. All the on and off ice antics by Gwoz and his ankle-grabbing team puts me over the edge...then add the usual competitiveness of the rivalry, and it's just oh so bitter when I see the Sioux play them. 7 reasons why I hate Denver (and I'm sure I'm forgetting some) 1) Dasher Dancing 2) Gwoz walking on our sacred ice 3) Paukovich 4) They are tied with us for 2nd most National Championships (7) 5) Competitive in-conference rival 6) Recently defeated us in National title game 7) Gwoz cheating by illegally communicating with team after being tossed

1st half swoon....split.

Just out of curiosity, what would it be used for? There USED to be a pdf file with a lot of UND owned logos, including the geometric one, which could be saved as a large file size...however, the link stopped working once the new PDF file came out that has the new UND athletic logos (like new interlocking ND and such). I may have the geo logo saved on an old computer, but it might be a long shot to dig it up because the computer hasn't been used in awhile due it not working properly. Here's a link to the new logos, if I find a working link to the old one, I'll pass it on.

The worst thing about tonight for me is very apparent. It irks me to no end.... ....I have to wait 5 more days to watch Sioux hockey again.

Haha, I totally mis-read Miami's box score on USCHO. I thought he had 4 goals and 1 assist, not 5 assists. Basically, where Camper had a primary assist, I thought he had a goal.
-
Frattin has some work to do for Hobey. Carter Camper for Miami has 11 goals and 6 assists already through 6 games. Almost two goals per game compared to Frattin's 1 gpg (not to mention the added assists)
-
Toews with a goal and an assist tonight so far in a 2-2 game still going on. Stafford also tallied a goal in a win and Parise also got New Jersey's only goal in a loss (to Stafford). Oshie assisted on a game-winning OT goal. Good night for former Sioux, not so good for current Sioux.

Also, is there a webcast tonight? Or is it just Hennessy? EDIT: found a Maine webcast: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/maine.portal# It's $7.95

Rodwell is in, he moved up to the third line with Kristo and Nelson.
-
Concordia, WI. He drinks paint thinner now. And don't feel bad, I accidentally called Matt Jones "Zach"...they look an awful lot alike though.

Shouldn't the UAA game have been that? I'm not in panic mode yet with this team. There are more than a few wrinkles to iron out, but it's still early. Keep in mind that this is the third straight road trip (2nd in which they are traveling over 1000 miles, and the other they got in an accident). That's tough on the legs and mind.

Is it in our heads about playing teams from out east or what...
-
Well, maybe this will get things going... "FIRE HAK!"
-
He's playing on the third line with a grinder in Mario Lamoureux, and a freshman in Brock Nelson. He's tried to do all the work himself instead of getting an offense set up.

I am pumped. Watching the Sioux play quality out of conference opponents is a blast and a good measuring stick for where you are as a program. I predict a split, but won't rule out a sweep or a winless weekend. Remember, we still have to go through our first half slump.

Last year in the Calder Cup playoffs, I got to check out Rylan Kaip with the Chicago Wolves (against the Milwaukee Admirals). I got to sit right by the Chicago bench that also featured Peter Mannino (who got pulled in the 1st period) and Chris Chelios (the traitor). It was pretty entertaining. The AHL is a good league with a nice, but small, die-hard fan base. I would LOVE to see Tony Hrkac play, but I want to get down to Concordia College where he coaches to see a game of theirs (which is about 45 minutes away from me).

You can only pick a player once per game...so no, you couldn't pick Genoway in round 2 if you picked him in round 1. Yes, once a winner is determined in a game, a new game will commence, and everyone will reset with all players available again. The first game hasn't finished yet, so the rest of us mortals have to wait.

Well, I pretty much finished the wallpaper, but don't have time to make different aspects and then upload before I work tonight, so here is a little teaser for now. Ben Blood welcomes you to November.

Here's my answer to your problem. Google. I'll take anything Leinie's, thank you.

What are you willing to pay?

Shoulda looked before I embarrassed myself. Maybe I'm thinking of 1-year Gopher player Jim O'Brien, but can't remember any incident with a specific Gopher defenseman from that year.
