It's 53-47 now...keep the votes coming!
-
Alright, let's beat Montreal. We're down but not out! I voted once and it went up a whole percentage point. Not saying it will do that every time...but if we can get some votes in, you never know what'll happen!

Didn't know where else to put this. But, I think NDSU is officially better than us now. Thundar, NDSU's mascot, is one of the finalists for Capitol One's Mascot Challenge this year, with the likes of the mascots from schools such as UCLA, NCSU, Tennessee and others. I haven't been around much lately, so this may have come up already, but for those that didn't know, I figured you might be interested.

NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey Regional Site Selections Announce
Big A HG replied to Esoxpirate's topic in Men's Hockey
Cool. The Ralph is in mine. -
The Packers have sold out every home game since like 1967. The Packers also didn't make it back to the Super Bowl for 29 years in that time span. That's dedication to a team.

I didn't take the time to read much of this thread, but the little I did read seems ridiculous. This is what I know. Joe Finley is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He takes the time to talk to anyone who cares to say hello and is very polite around people who don't even know who he is. Mistakes or not, he is more than deserving of a Sioux uniform and has developed big time the last couple seasons. He will be a feared player this upcoming year in the WCHA, and whoever has to play him and his team in the NHL. Joe is a hard worker and tries as hard as he can to live up to the Sioux name and to some of your all-too-high standards.

I'm going to guess Tim Skarperud joined a pro tour
-
I don't believe so either. Question is too vague.
-
I hope you are making your job decision based on the Sioux fan support in Cedar Rapids!
-
That's horrible.... From one Sconnie to another, I hope he fights this with all his might and one day we'll all hopefully be talking about this with a smile.

My guess is whichever way the wind blows that big oak. Hopefully the constant wind around here doesn't blow him away.
-
I hung out with him about 4 hours last week and I don't think he honestly knows himself, hockey wasn't the main topic most of the time, but he really didn't have a true answer. Joe is a very valuable part of our defense and I would really hate to see him go. Anyone that says they heard something from a "reliable" source has no idea what they are talking about. We know as much as he does for the most part.

Here's the easiest way to put it. Pretty much all of ND sucks with the exception of a few acres where REA resides.
-
Ok then, that answers that. I always wanted to see him at his best, too bad it won't happen with a Sioux uni.
-
I saw him about a week ago still wearing his Sioux hockey gear. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back with UND after Green Bay. I think he's a great talent that just needs to regain that confidence after some substantial injuries. He will dominate the USHL.

I didn't say/imply Walski would get even one start this year. I just said that Eidsness might not be the dominant goalie that people are expecting him to be in his freshman year. I'm also not saying he'll be bad...I just don't have any preconceived expectations of him before I see him play any games in the NCAA. I do think Walski will get a few more starts this year with Brad being our main guy. Brad will need time to adjust, but I'm sure glad that we have him.
-
The situation Eidsness is coming into is very different from Kangas or Bachmann. Kangas came in knowing he was the backup. CC didn't start the season with realistic expectations of winning the WCHA regular season title. Essentially, both had nothing to lose once given full time jobs. Eidsness is coming in with a lot of pressure. Basically he knows he's the starter. He's joining a team that has reached the previous 4 Frozen Fours and is a contending team every year. Is it too much pressure for a freshman? I'm not saying it is, but it might be a tougher road than expected.
-
Straight from the horses mouth is that he's in talks rights now. Talk don't mean much, but the way it sounded, I would guess he is 60-40 leaving.

His short-handed goal in the 2007 Frozen Four.

2008 Oshie Sports Celebrity Golf Tournament In Grand Forks, ND
Big A HG replied to Yttrium's topic in Men's Hockey
One of the best in town. I'm pretty sure Karl Goehring lives in GF too in the summer. Not 100%, but pretty sure. I know he has the last couple summers anyway. Last year he had something going on, maybe this year as well. -

Chris Porter, Coach Osh, and I (along with a couple Warroad guys) won it last year...right coach! I don't know who yet Tim, but I think I'm getting a whole new team together since it's in GF. -
I thought I was the biggest fan ever....

I noticed the hair thing myself, and was clicking add reply as I saw you already mentioned it. It's one of the worst I've seen....either that or he has horrible hair.

I knew that would get brought up, but they do not play in our conference and not much thought is put into a conference title whether it's a regular season or playoff banner. Their season was a disappointment because they didn't win the title. The elite teams want national championships. If we win a conference title and don't win the national championship...it would be a disappointing season.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Michigan finished the same as us this year.
