  1. I hope you are making your job decision based on the Sioux fan support in Cedar Rapids!
  2. That's horrible.... From one Sconnie to another, I hope he fights this with all his might and one day we'll all hopefully be talking about this with a smile.
  3. My guess is whichever way the wind blows that big oak. Hopefully the constant wind around here doesn't blow him away.
  4. I hung out with him about 4 hours last week and I don't think he honestly knows himself, hockey wasn't the main topic most of the time, but he really didn't have a true answer. Joe is a very valuable part of our defense and I would really hate to see him go. Anyone that says they heard something from a "reliable" source has no idea what they are talking about. We know as much as he does for the most part.

Here's the easiest way to put it. Pretty much all of ND sucks with the exception of a few acres where REA resides.
  6. Ok then, that answers that. I always wanted to see him at his best, too bad it won't happen with a Sioux uni.
  7. I saw him about a week ago still wearing his Sioux hockey gear. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back with UND after Green Bay. I think he's a great talent that just needs to regain that confidence after some substantial injuries. He will dominate the USHL.
  8. I didn't say/imply Walski would get even one start this year. I just said that Eidsness might not be the dominant goalie that people are expecting him to be in his freshman year. I'm also not saying he'll be bad...I just don't have any preconceived expectations of him before I see him play any games in the NCAA. I do think Walski will get a few more starts this year with Brad being our main guy. Brad will need time to adjust, but I'm sure glad that we have him.
  9. The situation Eidsness is coming into is very different from Kangas or Bachmann. Kangas came in knowing he was the backup. CC didn't start the season with realistic expectations of winning the WCHA regular season title. Essentially, both had nothing to lose once given full time jobs. Eidsness is coming in with a lot of pressure. Basically he knows he's the starter. He's joining a team that has reached the previous 4 Frozen Fours and is a contending team every year. Is it too much pressure for a freshman? I'm not saying it is, but it might be a tougher road than expected.
  10. Straight from the horses mouth is that he's in talks rights now. Talk don't mean much, but the way it sounded, I would guess he is 60-40 leaving.
  11. His short-handed goal in the 2007 Frozen Four.
  12. One of the best in town. I'm pretty sure Karl Goehring lives in GF too in the summer. Not 100%, but pretty sure. I know he has the last couple summers anyway. Last year he had something going on, maybe this year as well.
  13. Chris Porter, Coach Osh, and I (along with a couple Warroad guys) won it last year...right coach! I don't know who yet Tim, but I think I'm getting a whole new team together since it's in GF.
  14. I thought I was the biggest fan ever....
  15. I noticed the hair thing myself, and was clicking add reply as I saw you already mentioned it. It's one of the worst I've seen....either that or he has horrible hair.
  16. I knew that would get brought up, but they do not play in our conference and not much thought is put into a conference title whether it's a regular season or playoff banner. Their season was a disappointment because they didn't win the title. The elite teams want national championships. If we win a conference title and don't win the national championship...it would be a disappointing season.
  17. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Michigan finished the same as us this year.
  18. I just saw that there is a list of cities you can submit essays to bolster their status, and Grand Forks isn't one of them. You can, however, submit an essay making a case for Cavalier, ND if you like. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/titletown/n...tory?id=3339921
  19. The Ralph is meaningless in a story like this....especially since the Sioux have won exactly ZERO titles since playing in the new Ralph. There's plenty of great facilities in all sports throughout North America, many of which a team has actually won in. Writing a large paragraph on something meaningless to the story isn't going to get Grand Forks the term Titletown. Something tells me this whole story is set up just to re-give Green Bay the term in the long run.
  20. Nothing has a name as appealing as Madison Square Garden...so many legends from all different sports/interests have been in that building.
  21. ND high schools probably would win any high school championship count in the country because there are like 4 schools that have a chance at winning every year in like all the sports and half the teams make it to state.
  22. The arena only holds around 5000 I believe, which in my opinion, would be too small.
  23. Apparently mine wasn't either.
  24. Isn't that what you did in the Brett Favre retirement thread?
  25. This label is as old as the Green Bay tradition. This is something they earned years ago and has been forever a label of that team/city. To strip it from them just because of the drought they've had is like taking a historic label away from the Red Sox, or the Lakers or Celtics, etc... Green Bay earned this title years ago in the legendary history of pro football. This is not something you take away just to take it away.
