Agreed. The only way it could work in GF is if there are some very strong Sioux ruits tied to the program. And even then, it'd be a tough road.

After last year's season, I said there might be a slim chance that VV leaves during the summer. Everyone basically said I was dumb and that he'll be a four year player for sure. Now it doesn't seem that way.

Basically he said he's willing to explore his options, but wasn't sure. He'd like to see what kind of room is available in the AHL/NHL and just see how he feels in the off-season. One of the interviewers was pretty sure he was leaving in a post-interview discussion. The other guy wasn't so sure. Chris played it cool, but I'd say it's 60-40 he's gone next year.

Martens is due. Since the middle of last season up til the middle of this season he was flying around, making plays, and scoring some goals. He's been quiet on the offensive end this second half.

Well, it'll be either us and Denver, or CC and Denver, and it will come down to this series. Most likely it will be us and Denver, and I just don't think CC is going to be able to beat Denver. It's just my opinion. But, that's why they play the games.

We lost to a lot of teams worse than SCSU earlier this season as well. But things change when the end is near.

Denver 39 North Dakota 37 Wisconsin 34 Colorado Coll. 31 Duluth 31 Minnesota 29 St. Cloud 27 Mankato 22 UAA 20 Tech 10 Denver is too good to lose to SCSU and I don't see them losing a one-game rivalry series for a MacNaughton.

It's a Co-Champion then. If DU and us were tied, we'd win tie-breaker for first seed in WCHA tourney.

Toews with a below average shot (accuracy-wise) missed a net that was open completely on his half.

Steroids, of course, aren't permitted, and the NCAA has the right to test anyone randomly. I've never heard of anyone being tested though.

Thank you...I agree 100%. No need to belittle anyone for where they're from...especially if you're from North Dakota. Saying things towards another group for where they live is so Minnesota. Let's not be like them. wasanodakker, I hope you don't take some people's comments as generality of what the entire group thinks.

I'm all for expansion in college hockey (minus Canadian teams). There are problems with this where hockey stands right now. There is no conference room at the moment right now. And, there are better schools to help expand college hockey than NDSU. If NDSU added hockey, there wouldn't be anyone unknown to how fun college hockey is that would all of a sudden understand it. NDSU fans all know about Sioux hockey, so you're not really expanding much. Other schools like Penn State or Illinois would grow the game far more than NDSU. I'm not saying because NDSU wouldn't contribute much should mean they shouldn't join, but NDSU is a poor fit right now in the grand scheme of college hockey. Assuming Bemidji will be the 11th team, and assuming we'll add a 12th team, there is still no room at the moment. UAH is still looking for a home. CCHA is the best option for UAH (WCHA is THEIR second choice). If the CCHA does their part in adding UAH, and allow a team like UNM or UNO to leave and join the WCHA, both conferences are still full at 12. There's just no room for NDSU, and that's college hockey's fault. With an unconvinced fan-base though, it makes it difficult for any foreward movement to happen at NDSU. There's no rink set in stone, and there isn't enough room to share with Fargo at the UPC. This has all been discussed and mentioned, so please read previous posts. If NDSU can guarantee themselves a successful program that won't lose money, and they can find a rink to play in, and someone can find room for them, then I'm all for them joining the D1 college hockey ranks. But, until then, NDSU is a long ways from joining D1 hockey. They're about 10 years too late right now with the way the conferences are alligned in D1 hockey. IF a Big Ten conference were to form, and NDSU had proof and the resources to start D1 hockey, that'd be their best opportunity.
