  1. Well I guess the week of being united is over.
  2. We don't have to worry about Bohl going to Nebraska because the fans would go crazy! If it were'nt for that I would give Bohl an excelent shot because of his relationship with Osbourne. And for the money a big conference team can throw at a coach it is going to be hard to keep him long. If he's here next year I will be delightfully suprised!! It's the problem with success at this level.
  3. They've only had a football program for 11 years.
  4. I as a Bison fan am very encouraged to see so much support from the vast majority on this board. I hope to see a lot of kelly green in the cities/metrodome this weekend for the North Dakota invasion. Hopefully the "little guys in green" can pull off the victory this year!! GO SIOUX! GO BISON!!!
  5. Hey JFR, we should have a fairly solid team this year. We had four players average in double digits last season three of which will return this year. We will definately be missing the size and athletic ability of Andre Smith who graduated last year. It will be interesting to see how we do without his presence down low. Good luck to the Scarlet Knights in 07-08!!!!
  6. I will give credit to UND in that Dressler, and Chappel are awesome talents and would love either of them at SU, but top to bottom the Bison are the better team. This is how I see it breaking down. QB- NDSU RB- even( Chappel is the best talent wise but Bison depth is awesome) WR-UND OL-NDSU DL- NDSU LB-NDSU DB-UND(not really sure but this seems to always be our weakness) K/P return-even(I know you may jump on me for this but Shamen and Dressler are about the same) K-even ( I really don't know much about the kicker for UND Bibeau is pretty accurate) P- NDSU (Drago NFL bound!!) This is how I see it on paper, but in a Bison/Sioux game this can all go out the window. I would say NDSU by 10 but if the Bison don't come to play the Sioux definately could beat us. I do think that a late season game would favor the Bison, this is were the difference between the depth of the teams would be most evedent.
  7. A couple things. #1. I think the Sioux would give the Gophers a good game though I think the Gophers would win. In a few years with better depth who knows? #2. The Sioux have a great team with some very explosive players and a Bison/Sioux game will always be a great game but I think the Bison are better team top to bottom therefore giving the Bison an edge. #3. I also think the Sioux will have a successfull transition. But what the Bison have done is remarkable, especially in Mens bball. I hope for UND's sake that they don't use NDSU's transition as a measuring stick for their own. #4. I have to say that at this time I would really prefer that NDSU isn't thinking about hockey. I don't think it's in our best interest right now. Basketball is where our resouces need to be right now!!
  8. Absolutely pointless until we play. To be fair though it's not just Bison fans doing the yapping. A fair amount of Sioux fans like to start s&!t to. Sometimes what I see happen is a fan of one team(for discussion we'll say a Bison fan) comes on here and provides a comment that isn't really meant to be smack but is taken that way. Then in defense a Sioux fan responds with smack, and after the fight has raged on a while and the discussion is now on attendance and budgetary issues somebody chimes in with " hey, weren't we just talking about Augustana". It happens on the Bison board in the same way and it's petty!
  9. I don't agree that the margin of victory brings out any insecurities in Bison fans. I think most of us probably expected you to roll over them. I agree that some fans from Bisonville concern themselves too much with what is going on up there, for which I have no explanation. I think that fans on both sides,no matter how much venom has been built up over the last few years need to atleast admit that North Dakota has two damn good college football programs. Look at the preseason polls NDSU/UND are both ranked around #3 in the nation in their respective divisions, that's pretty darn good for ND. Hopefully one of these days we'll settle it on the field once again. I think that game might sell a few tickets!
  10. I completely agree with your last statment. I have the philosophy that you stay until the last dog is hung. Though since becoming a parent I'm willing to bend in the case of unruley tikes!! Sanity first!!
  11. I don't completely disagree with playing a patsie for the first game like we did last year with CSP. The scary part for us is that SFA will have already played a game and we'll still be knocking the rust off. SUU will give the Sioux a far better game than Humbolt did but they're still not very good. You guys will win by 15-20.
  12. I'm not coming on here to lay any smack but while Stephan F. Austin may not be the "greatest team" they are a pretty good team. I would say that allthough they may not have as good of an offense as UND, they may have a slightly better defense. And that's a complement to the them because that is UND's bread and butter. We in no way will beat them 59-0! Probably 30-10.
  13. I doubt it will be that close. On the other hand I know nothing about Humbolt St. UND- 52 Humbolt St.-17
  14. Congrats to the Sioux, and Coyotes! And good for the future of the GreatWest. Although we couldn't pass up the opprotunity we have with the Gateway, I couldn't help but feel bad for the GWFC. Both of these schools will be great additions for the stength of the conference. And hopefully you can convince a couple more to follow!!
  15. I agree, if the GWFC can find some more members. I think the Great West was the #1 ranked conference in the nation last year, the addition of UND and USD will provide for strength into the future. Congratulations to the Sioux, and Coyotes! And hopefully someday soon we'll see you on the field.
  16. More exposure= more butts in the seats= more money in the bank. Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember more Sioux billboards in the Fargo area in the past compared to maybe the last 3-4 years. I think you will see a ramped up effort to sell Sioux football to the region as you go into the transition. I think it's money well spent!!
  17. YES!! THE HOLY HAND GRENADE OF ANTIOCH!! Brother Maynard carries it with him.
  18. Why would they install it at memorial stadium, and not at the Alerus? I know both the Fargodome and Alerus have the same type of turf, both in good condition. It's not like it's really a neccessity in either but come on frickin Concordia is gettting field turf. But ya know once one gets it the other will soon follow.
  19. Actually Stephen F. Austin is a pretty good team. Last year they played us really tough losing 17-9,though I'm guessing the margin will be a little wider considering it's in Fargo. I don't care if it's Humbolt St., Montana Tech, or whomever you've got to get out there and support your team! Yeah, I guess you could say that " I WILL BE THERE". Don't puke too much!!
  20. Holy crap!! That's the earliest start date I can remember. That's over two weeks before SU!
  21. Good job North Dakota!!!!!!
  22. I can't say I know a whole lot about the other coaches, but I have no doubt that Lennon is the best coach on that list. Montana State would be crazy not to offer the job to Lennon. This is the D-I drawback. Successfull coaches don't stick around too long. The clock is ticking for Bohl, another 9 or 10 win season and we could be in the same position next year.
  23. I agree, though SUU has some athletes and it could be a competetive game, I would think UND would win by two touchdowns or more.
  24. I agree with what your saying there. I know I'm in the minority but I think we should just bury the hatchet and revive the rivalry again. If the Sioux had no intentions of going D-I my feelings might be different, just because I don't want us scheduling D-II when we are playoff eligible. Let's get it on!!!
